The Nightly Show

Great show tonight. Not too gimmicky in terms of features, but the ones they did worked well. Dermot is brilliant.

Wonderful sensitive opening tonight.

Nice to see the titles used and having great guests in Ant & Dec and James Blunt. No faffing around and straight into the guests after the titles.

As Dec mentioned Dermot is doing a brilliant job and is such a natural at it. I wonder if it would be something that he'd consider if they did offer it to him.

Nice cameo from a certain Mr Corden too. Dermot's very good and the NTA feature was well put together.

I wonder if it did any better than the sub-1m viewers on Tuesday though. If not, then the programme may already be a dead man walking.

The ad break in the between the shows wouldn't help things. But I agree, tonight's show definitely flowed well. Glad they got a guest that's actually flogging something, i.e. James Blunt.

I think that if and when The Nightly Show returns after the eight weeks, it ought to be pushed back to 10:35. However extending it to 45 mins/an hour would send a message of confidence in the product to those suggesting moving it later is admitting defeat. Also it could benefit from being a bit longer.

Moving the Nightly Show to 10:40 would not mean that ITV has wasted money because 10:40 isn't very late in the night-time schedule. After all, it has turned out to be a flop in its present slot.

Is Celebrity Juice now at 22:30 on ITV2 so it doesn't clash with The Nightly Show?

Yes. ITV clearly scared of being outrated by ITV2.
