Everyone? The whole country? No point in ITV doing news at all then?
Surely if ITV is 2nd place in news, moving a main news programme to a slot that doesn't compete with the other side is the best chance you can give yourself to make an in-road.
Eventually, one of the main ITV news programmes will fade away - I say it's best for the remaining programme to be in a prime slot that assists the remaining schedule and doesn't clash with the Beeb.
That leaves 8PM. Would that be viable? I mean would viewers actually settle down at primetime to watch news on ITV? Mind you having said that it would help with the drama quota and films not being cut in half:
A possible schedule could be:
6.00 Local Programmes
7.00 Soaps
8.00 ITV Network News
8.30 Documentary?
9.00 Movie or 2 hour drama
11.00 ITN Late News
Surely it's best to have Regional News programming coupled with the National News? This could be a real problem if ITV reduce their two National News programmes to one as they won't want to place the News too far in the schedule as otherwise what is the point? Would the Regional News become just one bulletin too (though that could be a positive thing if carried out correctly by Ofcom)?
This Chatshow format could work (remember News At Ten itself was an Six Weeks experiment...) but where would that leave the News? A short bulletin after the Chatshow?
It is engrained in the BBC public that they watch news at teatime, if ITV had a bulletin at 8pm everyone would just watch the Six and then not want to watch a bulletin two hours later.

The best way for ITV to get more views on GMB is alter entire schedule, bring GMB earlier to about start 5.30 and end at 8.15, retitle it GMB with Piers Morgan.
They should keep the evening news hour like it is so when it's ITV region news it BBC national then other way round, the 7pm slot should have 1hr soaps / programmes
Monday : Coronation Street
Tuesday : Emmerdale
Wednesday : New Drama
Thursday : Emmerdale
Friday : Coronation Street
Saturday : New Comedy Show / Game Show
Sunday : Coronation Street
Emmerdale would air at 6pm on weekends, with news hour at 5pm.
They should have GMB air 7 days a week, same with news at ten

Fits about as well as a Saturday night primetime game show hosted by Michael Gove.
Hang on a minute!... *writes that down*
A technology show daily on ITV daytime? ?????

Fantasy schedules are laughable - especially when you work with people who have to do the schedules. It's really not that simple.
