The millenials quiz was a great idea, but slightly frustrating for me. I'm younger than both of them, and I got all of them correct!

They probably sought out stupid ones to make a point.

It's watchable tonight, helps they've got Tony Bellew on from his match recently. And Pamela Anderson

(Might be worth changing the thread title to 'The Nightly Show' since it's past the coming soon stage)

Negotiations with Mel and Sue to get them to host The Nightly Show have failed.

If ITV pulls the plug on it early, then I can't see an alternative to putting the news back at 10. Sure, what else would there be to broadcast?!

More a case of "going soon" now surely. The title still seems apt though as it's a question of when, not if, NAT will be moved back.

If I were ITV now I'd be looking at dropping the Nightly Show completely after week 4 rather than just switching them around. I'd also be dropping Kevin Lygo.

Watched something on Channel 5 last night about Ant & Dec, and a former suit at ITV was talking about the failure of Slap Bang. He said sometimes it's worth taking risks on television, and sometimes it doesn't work out. And he said something along the lines of it doesn't always work out, and who cares if it doesn't? Nobody dies.

ITV have done (and still do) much worse than The Nightly Show. It's a very hard format to get right first time, but I'm sure most people are just falling into the media's palm by declaring it an abomination.

The Ant & Dec Story. Don't know if that was a repeat, but it had the late Tara Palmer-Tomkinson as one of the talking heads (to discuss I'm a Celeb), so they filmed it a while ago.

The Nightly Show hasn't even been the lowest rated thing on primetime ITV this week, so I don't see the rush to write the whole thing off.

Lets claim down and look at it from the other points. I fully agree ITV should be taking risk, I still like Harry hill stars in your eyes. ITV went right out of it way promoting this show, ITV went out of it way to move the news, ITV went out of it way to big it up which is never had done. The thing with taking risks with this show, is its 8 full weeks, of test pilots really, and it needs to find its feet, but it doesn't help that ITV has cause some of the trouble itself.

Wiliams was just dire, Bishop improved it, but his speed is to slow, and his wife rightly told him off over stupid ideas. I and It would seem many others don't know what ITV want from this. Does it want to be like Colbert? or like the two jimmys? Personnel I don't think would work in the UK. Or does it want to have a more like James Corden or Craig Ferguson, which im my books would be better. Until ITV can decide what it wants it can't move forward. Set does it no favors, its need to find a better host for the last two weeks, it just can;t wheel names for the shake of names. To me it just feels like ITV has one idea but the viewers have another.

The more they stop trying to emulate the American shows, the better they'll get. The big problem is people are watching clips from TLLS and saying "why can't ITV do this?" It'll work fine if they just work out a good chat show format that's feasible to do five nights a week. V Graham Norton didn't try to be Americanised and that turned out alright.

I think that's exactly the point. Graham Norton was tried and tested on a Friday night on Channel 4 so they picked him to try the 5 night approach which was a slightly shorted version of his Friday night offering.

I don't understand if they want to make this a 'thing' in the UK why they only went with 8 weeks. Why did they not utilise some of the comedians who hosted the off air pilots and why didn't they take time and choose one host.

My only theory is they're doing extended on-air auditions to see who the viewers warm to more, and consider offering them a full series.

That, or they just have no idea what to do.
