What I meant was, rather than give him a five evenings a week slot in the first place, they perhaps missed a trick in not having him five nights a week, seeing as he was willing to do it.
As good as John's music video parodies are, they're going on for a bit too long, and the element of surprise is fading a bit now having introduced a "music video" in every show so far.
I had a feeling that was the case based on what I'd been told.
Just watching on +1... during the race they do, was someone holding a banner reading "The Nightly Show... What a flop!"

So we no have more details:
Week 3: Davina McCall
Week 4: Dermot O’Leary.
Gordon Ramsay and Bradley Walsh are lined up but what about the last two weeks? I can't blame Mel and sue for pulling out, I dare say there looked at the production values and though will anything changed? Walliams was paid £250'000? Someone should get sacked for that i wouldn't have given him 50 grand for the week let along a day. ITV got more money then sence, Why not get no tv people or cheap people? i bet there could do a better job.
I don't believe for a second that David Walliams was getting £50,000 an ep. I do believe however that an agreement was reached which said they'd leak he was getting that much for the gig.
I'd personally like to see them go for a bit of a different choice. Wasn't Joe Lycett used for some of the off air pilots? Greg James would also be another choice of mine though the filming would clash with his radio show.

No, they were Everton fans holding banners slagging off Liverpool, as explained before the race.
I thought all 'how much stars are getting paid' is always inflated and made up in the press, like Clarkson or Ross getting umpteen million per show or whatever they used to say.
I don't think this is an especially expensive show to make anyway, now you've got it all set up. The guests are presumably appearing for a nominal fee as they're plugging stuff and it's mostly entirely studio-based, plus it's got a sponsor. Can't imagine the cost per episode is very high at all.
