Arrgh, tbh, they need a snappy, witty presenter - couldn't they try someone lesser known?

'Unspun with Matt Forde' on Dave seems to be on point:

Wow, never heard of or seen of this show before but just watched a bit and it's pretty good, much better than the Nightly Show. ITV should take some tips from Dave.

It's channelling The Daily Show, but it's much more watchable than TNS atm.

Well that was a totally different style of show but it didn't feel any better for it. And that's the problem with the show, different host, different style. The show doesn't know what it wants to be.

A very different feel to it tonight.

Having it so John didn't even walk out felt a bit odd to me.
They've taken the decision to display a London skyline which whilst making it feel more like a traditional late night chat show doesn't look as good on the close up shots imo. The sofa looks like something that would have been used on the Paul O'Grady show, although it's more of a TV sofa than last week's.

I didn't like the lack of titles and the programme lacked the pace that it had last week with no titles, game or other interactions bar with the guest. I enjoyed the opening monologue and found it funnier than some of last week's. I noted that it was written by John Bishop according to the credits. The show seemed to fizzle out towards the end, I was half expecting the earlier Madonna reference to reappear.

As for the guests, didn't Graham Norton say that they struggled to find guests when he fronted V Graham Norton? Graham has one of the best celebrity bookers in the industry for his current show this they manage to get all of the biggest names to appear on there.

Anyway, back to the nightly show. Overall a different approach, funnier in places but lacking the pace.

I feel disappointing and underwhelmed, with bishop. I will say this I fully surrport these changes even if there dont work, because this is the only way ITV will learn..... That liz woman has also failed to understand is one other important point, Kimmel also works on will take a look:

You dont NEED big guest for these shows to work....

Betty white turned up alot on Craigs show and that was always fun.

One night last week The One Show had Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston & Brie Larsson on promoting King Kong. There's clearly A listers doing the rounds, ITV just mustn't be able to book them. Also, The One Show guarantees an audience of around 5 million compared to 1.5 million for TNS. Agents will likely go for the show with the bigger audience.

Not enough guests out there to fill a 5 night a week show in this country I imagine. Certainly not high-profile ones anyway, without having to resort to TOWIE people and X Factor contestants to fill the slots.

The guests are terrible. It's primetime on a teatime budget.

And as The Nightly Show records at the same time The One Show airs, there's no hope.

TNS records between 5:30 & 7, could easily have a guest at the record and get them to NBH for an interview, just not at the top of The One Show, unless the guest is recorded bang on 5:30 at TNS.

I felt it was bittersweet tonight. John seemed more comfortable in the role than David did, but having said that, he lacks the enthusiasm to carry the show. Hearing him introduce the show over the sort-of title sequence with all the oomph of a wet leaf was actually quite painful to listen to.
