There not even adverts going into the news. Lets get something striaght here? If there is NO adverts ITV isnt making money so why has it moved the news? to get more viewers to prove what?

Recorded as live, so can be tweaked.
Well I for one liked it, and was genuinely surprised at the quality of the sketches. David is a bit wooden reading an autocue but it's live and it's night one. It has great potential.

The ad minutes might have moved into broadchurch were they have guaranteed high 16-34/abc1. I know they do this with the show before xfactor. Could be the same case here.
Over all it felt like a bunch of 50 yr old producers trying to do something hip. The guys that run James cordon show are late 30's.

Then there be doing that all week with all its higher proflie shows at 9pm. If there not even having adverts and there not making money in this time slot why move the news? are there just trying to prove a point look more viewers and were keeping them for the later news?

It was watchable. Don't think 30 minutes is long enough to properly establish a conversation between multiple guests and do a news bit (for which the OTS was a bit rubbish and kept cutting into David's arm).
I'm never going to prefer this to the News at Ten and, admittedly, probably won't watch it again as I prefer the news before I head to bed. Generally a decent effort but still a long way to come before it's anywhere near what ITV would like it to be.

If the show is this awful with David Walliams imagine how awful it'll be with Gordon Ramsey and Davina McCall! I don't understand why they piloted the show with new talent like Joe Lycett but are giving actual airtime to already failed chat show hosts and other old hat names. There's potential for a show like this to work but it's all just a bit safe and uninspiring.

No adverts with STV still going straight into Scotland Tonight. Its clear this isnt about money.

Given they have so little time it felt padded. It is too safe for 10pm. A bit like Paul O'Grady does late.

I believe there is some real potential with this show. However, these eight weeks will at least help ITV to look through on making it a much better proposition in the future.
I felt that it was watchable - the set looked quite versatile and well represented, and I felt that the sketches were quite well made. The humour, though, was wooden to be fair.

It's about audience share. For The Nightly Show they have a sponsor so they have to give them airtime. I don't suppose there will always be no ads before 10pm or at 10:30pm. They often do this with schedule shake-ups to give shows the best change to gain an audience.
