Has anyone’s 103 changed yet? Mine is still SD and HD is still on 176. Do Sky normally do changes later in the day or something?

Mid to late morning seems a popular time of day for EPG changes.....?

Worth noting that yesterday ITV HD was removed from Virgin, but has returned today as they're now using the satellite version with the correct local feed.

For example last week ITV Meridian was being shown on Virgin in Kettering for example as it was fed from DTT from Sandy Heath, but is now showing Anglia West today.

The Sky changes haven't all gone to plan.

I'm in the Anglia West region, looks like Sky have forgotten to turn on HD channel swap as ITV HD has appeared on 803.

Searching 'ITV HD' on Twitter and there seems to be a lot of discrepancies, particularly people who now have HD on 803!

SD-only sat households must be dwindling fast though, and even those cheap SD-only Freesat boxes given to viewers in some regions at digital switchover must be about dead now.

Oh god I forgot about those. I mean not that it took that much effort to convince my aunt to stump up the £49 for a replacement but her Manhattan SD Freesat box would likely have kept chugging along if I'd not given her a prod.

Even the early HD Freesat boxes will be no good. My parents had a Bush box. As well as getting insanely hot, the power button lit up when off, and went out when on ! I seem to recall it was rendered useless when stat muxing was introduced on HD transponders ? I found it in the loft a year ago, powered it up, and the picture ran at about 2-3 fps ! It went to the tip.

Sound like it might only have been decoding the I-frames and not the B or P frames?

Yes, the symptoms pointed towards something like that. It was like watching a Max Headroom[1] video !

[1] They were possibly cleverer than they imagined at the time using that name !

How long is the expected life cycle for Freesat or Freeview box?

The Consumer Rights Act states a minimum of 6 years (5 in Scotland 🤷‍♂️) for domestic electrical appliances it seems?
