The title of this thread is like something you would find in a tabloid. Salford IS Manchester for most people!

Regarding the Coronation Street set, as it is adjacent to the science museum. It would be good if that area could be incorporated into the museum and kept. The remainder of the Granada site is still massive enough to be sold generating many £M's for ITV.

I imagine the Bonded Warehouse may be turned into fancy apartments but I doubt the main Granada building will stay, I imagine it's probably in a poor condition already and would be the first to be demolished

I thought about the science museum keeping the corry set, would get people in as I bet a lot used to go there just for a peek at corry before they blocked the windows out
which is kind of what I used to do Embarassed

In which case, most people are completely wrong. As I'm sure most people here know, Salford and Manchester are
two seperate cities, just situated next to one another. Although it's more of a subject for a different discussion.

I'm not playing down the sadness of Quay Street closing for good, but at least Corrie's still going to be produced in the area the programme is set in, and actually in Salford itself.

Being pedantic - technically Corrie isn't going to Salford it's off to Trafford.

But Salford is in Greater Manchester and most people think of it as being part of Manchester even if it is a city of its own.

Its not Trafford until you cross the river.
The river & Canal mark a lot of the boundary of Salford

Which you would have to do if you wanted to get from the new Granada Reports newsroom to the new home of Corrie. There's a nice new bridge to use though.

Yeah watching Granada Reports tonight it looks like that will move to an office, the even showed the studio area and Freds weather roof garden.

I think they did say something about still making JK and countdown in the new itv build and they also showed the pic on page 1 with the ITV Logo on the top of the building.

Isn't Quay Street pretty much in Salford anyway?

Its within easy walking distance to Salford I think, i.e. around 5 minutes away but its actually in Manchester itself.
