Just wondering what people think about this? I think they have because they keep playing out the wrong recorded announcements... just going into the ITV Early Morning News we had the announcement for the late night repeat of "Today with Des and Mel"... and a few weeks ago I heard the announcement for GMTV going out before the Morning News...

This would never happen if we still had our regions!

But the examples you give are for during ITV Night Time, which was never under regional control before anyway. Isn't overnight live now? And there were certainly mistakes before 28th October last year, not to mention the same awful cheesy annos for months and months, and the plain ident always. "I often wonder how we fit it all in, but we do[!]"

Wales' continuity has certainly suffered, since it's recorded from 0925 to 0100, i.e. all of the time. When LNN choose to press the button, the right anno comes through *most* of the time now, but still gets chopped off -- but it has taken months to get to that mediocre standard. I don't honestly think they can cope over there with being octopus arms, but oh well.

The GMG North regions used to be pretty bad for this, and sometimes the annos didn't even go out, leaving viewers watching a blue "spinning hearts" screen...

Well judging by the mistakes I've heard - evidently not!

Indeed correct - overnights are now recorded by the 'regional' announcer each day.

ITV1 Wales played the 3pm news headline intro after 5pm the other afternoon.

The problems are obvioulsy scheduling errors i.e. the wrong 'cut' loaded - all essentially human error - I admit it is bad though!

Obviously a pre recorded scheduling error.

No they didn't! LNN played it.

I think that continuity has suffered since going national, but I watch more ITV now than I have ever done before.

So Glen Thompsett was the regional announcer yesterday?

When did Wales go recorded? I thought they were still live.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was when HTV disappeared.

Sounds more like they got the tracks out of sync with the breaks - playing each one earlier than they should. This is common when playing annos from minidisc and the operator either misses a track or plays the same one twice.
