Itv may never bring back game shows, there cost to much money now a days, although the only “quiz” show still running is Who want to be a….. This is CRAP! I have seen more fun watching paint dry! (Although the amount the spend on that rubbish could easily pay for much better game shows) But the point is gameshows Need money to operate and ITV hasn’t the cash spear to do that, itv try to make the gameshows much cheaper like what there done to FF or catchphase but there new format where not even a 5th of there original format and greatness. ( the only gameshow that could even be cheap N nasty has and wil alway been blankley blank! I think paul O grandy could be grate at it ( NOT lily! ) So there failed and just give up trying. I doubt gameshow could even come back as itv wouldn’t spend the cash!

Is that post serious - firstly The Price is Right IS coming back, Family Fortunes IS coming back, Bullseye is being made by ITV for Challenge and possibly shown later on ITV.

Other gameshows I'd like to come back are....

Winner Takes All - say for a 5pm slot with Bobby Davro (he did the Challenge version a few years ago!)
Catchphrase - with Greg Scott (him from Quizmania)
The Krypton Factor - with someone in the same ilk as Julian Pettifer and Gordon Burns
Strike It Rich with (guess who???) M Barrymore
My Kind Of Music - again with M Barrymore
Wheel of Fortune with Patrick McGuiness (Paddy from Phoenix NIght/Max & Paddy)

Paul O'Grandy?. Is that a tribute act?

Anyway I think you are barking up the wrong tree if you think the reason gameshow isn't back is because there's no 'cash spear' (Is that Britney's sister?). Especially when you consider that even the showcase showdown on Price is Right was only about 20k, compared with the large amounts they give away even on This Morning!

where did this all apper from? IF ALL TRUE! I appoglisy!

but I still can't see this happening! FF is suppose to be back as celebs, Price is right never heard that was coming back, and bulleyes is been made for Challenge tv and NOT itv so it wont be shown

just to point out: all that money "this morning" gives away mainly come from people phoning in on 50p per minture phone lines that how ther epay for it, or on GMTV with there Ł1 per call cost.

I agree about Who Wants to be A Millionaire - its had its day. I used to watch it regularly when it first started but now it seems to be on every week.

I hope some of these returning quiz shows are shown in their old 7pm slots which means ITV would have to cut down on the number of episodes of the soaps.

PLease re-read more carefully ----- I said that ITV are making Bullseye for Challenge with a possiblity that ITV will show it later. ITV productions under its guise of Granada (the name it uses for programmes being made for non-ITV channels)

Emmerdale will be shown at 7pm every weeknight until the end of time however often you mention it.

Mind you, it used to be on far more than that when it first started. Twice weekly if I remember.

To me WWTBAM was "Event" television. When it first started it was on for 30 minutes EVERY night for 3 weeks at a time. To me it was spolit when they changed the format to 2 one hour episodes on a Tuesday and a Saturday, and now it is a real dead horse although there is only 1 one hour episode a week.

It is now a tried format - if anything they should have kept it as "Event" Television every night for 3 weeks about 2 to 3 times a year.

WWTBAM is in need of a major revamp. I think only the title images, the hotseat area and lighting colour has been changed since 1998.

Its obviously kept going because it was once a worldwide hit and is still shown in other countries.

Note also there is no longer Chris saying "Last time on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" at the start of the show. This reduces the 'suspense' element.

I think if ITV did revamp however, they would probably introduce an ITV2 'backstage show' after hosted by someone like Matt 'boring' Brown and it would probably go the same way as Blind Date with Tarrant deciding to leave and the show scrapped. Tricky situation really.
