I mean you could go the whole hog and reintroduce HTV in Wales. Actually giving all four nations there own identity is a kind of clever move.

Well, I also did this two and a half years ago...

But I think it's very unlikely now. If it had been called WTV or something that meant something to the region, possibly.

I actually prefer having ITV Cymru Wales, because there are so many references to ITV during programmes and on social media, it keeps everything consistent. Although wish they'd just use ITV Wales. It rolls off the tongue better, and the sound of a Scottish announcer saying 'you're watching ITV Cymru Wales' is a bit ridiculous.

If ITV buy STV could they get a pan Scotland STV with the Cumbria joining the North East or Granada news.

Only after Ofcom approval and that far from a done deal

Wouldn't that be likely - they could say it would make the local news more relevant as England and Scotland increasingly have different laws and problems and less that is the same. Plus the BBC follow the same pattern.

It’s ok, you’ve got That’s TV for local news.

Helpful. Rolling Eyes

Merging Border Scotland into the neighbouring STV news region, with a proper Scottish/English split, makes more sense.

you want us to waste time talking about "That TV"? which is dire? Have you not seen the complaints

The person was suggesting merging Border, STV and Grampian together..

Yeah because no sensible broadcaster would ever do that.....
