From last month the ITV Evening News at 6pm has been airing in the United States on CBC NewsWorld International, the Canadian Broadcasting Corps International Newschannel. The only international broadcaster in NorthAmerica. http://www.nwitv.com/itv/index.html

Well that is quite a statement!

Im sure the 12:30 Lunchtime news knocks spots off the BBC equivalent at 13:00 and so could be deemed the most popular within THAT one hour LOL

Well the Networks here dont really cover international news that much. They only cover something if it affects the US. Newsworld Internation is the only Internation News Network for North America. I know they will loss viewers once BBC World sets up shop here.

I'm not disputing that, but we're talking about the EVENING news.

It's quite clearly tea-time, at 6.30pm, only for half an hour, and this country is the United Kingdom. I should be grateful at least they didn't write England.

And the *only* international broadcaster on the whole continent?! If that's true that is absolutely frightening. I would've expected better of Canada mind you.

Is 'dinner' not American for 'lunch'?

And southern English for tea also. The US seem to be showing the news programme during their evening, so they must use it to mean tea. But let's not get into the great lunch/dinner/tea debate -- it wasn't my main point anyway.

Well CNN no longer provides international coverage of anything. Because they are endeavouring to keep up with FOX NEWS CHANNEL. So they've all but scapped international news. Though we do also get CNN en Espanol but that doesnt help much. NewsWorld International is actually an ok channel. But its not a "live" channel. Its mostly taped reports and such. Its domestic Canadian feed is much livelier. http://www.cbc.ca/newsworld/ But the channel is not owned by the CBC, they are contracted by VIVENDI/Universal which owns the channel and pays for all the expenses the CBC incurs in producing the channel. BUT the channel may disappear since NBC has pretty much fully purchased all of VIVENDI's North American assets. They may shut down the channel.
