I've never liked the Hearts idents. It was much better when each region was independant and had their own idents. But with Sky on the other hand, I would like to see them go back to corporate branding as it worked for them, the old Sky logos were brilliant and the music really went well, good job I've got some on real file:P:

in my opinion itv have lost the plot, i really missed westcountry televisions big W logo, it felt special simply because they showed off the best of our region, they were tasteful and had a lot of variety, viewers could identify with it. The news progammes all used to match up with the overall presentation. Now we are left with 'westcountry news' broadcasting on 'Carlton in the West Country on itv1' all special regional links have gone. i don't think anyone would complain if these were brought back. The only similar ones i have seen at the moment are the scottish and grampian ones. itv used to represent the regions now it just seems greedy
I don't particularly like the standard hearts on ITV, however I like the Carlton hearts and think they should be used more across the network - especially HTV as it is owned by Carlton.
HTV do use the Carlton idents.
Anyway the hearts idents were good for Granada as they removed their awful Stripe ident which was abot as interesting as a brick! but they even manage not to use the full idents we get the occasional full stripes ident but mainly just the 'end' part of the ident and recently for ITV1 they sometimes use the stripes ident without the music just the v/o music.

Trust me HTV may be owned by Carlton but they are still using their HTV name on the hearts idents thnkgod! It's mad enough having the Midlands, Westcountry showing Carlton idents like London letalone if HTV West & Wales start doing it! OK the stars arn't that bad on Carlton but I don't wanna see it on all friggin regions!
