ITV to ditch yellow and blue identity

I agree with whoever said that ITV is currently in an identity crisis - the whole thing needs a complete makeover/massive rehaul. The current branding of the company is an utter mess. We've still got the old 'scratched' logo from 2002 floating around somewhere pretending to be the corporate logo, then there's the regional variations on the logo ("ITV Yorkshire", "ITV Granada" etc) which feature on the end of regional productions (abysmal productions to say the least), a completely different logo for ITV1, an likewise uninspiring Weather graphic... and the list goes on. Oh, how I would like to see ITV getting their act together with this abolishment of blue and yellow. I'd like to see regional branding back, myself. But sadly, it'll never return.

The complete irony is that the regional identities were ditched in order to create a more consistent brand for ITV. I'm sure there must be more variations of the ITV logo now than there were regional logos.

Well BBC Broadcast have won the tender to re-design the ITV on air look.
