Its obvious PD is flavour of the month with ITV at the moment!
Unsurprising considering their recent history with their own drama output.
Can't be long now until the next wave of ITV dramas - both The Fixer (how's that been doing BTW) and Rock Rivals must be due to end in the next few weeks.
I'd imagine The Fixer will get recommissioned - and Rock Rivals won't. Was Honest ever confirmed one way or the other?
The Fixer's going ok. 4.5m on Monday. It was beaten by Crimewatch but it's still a healthy audience. RR won't be back. 2 million on Wednesday - I think it's probably a bigger flop than Echo Beach.
I think it's probably a bigger flop than Echo Beach.
Yet EB is back although probabaly on ITV2, and I guess only because MW is coming back.
Nothing has been said about whether Honest or The Palace will be back but id imagine not as they have said by now surely? They recommisioned Primeval before the previous series ended.
Well I imagine if PD is a huge sucess then ITV will only be too happy for a 22 episode season to air next year. It would fill a 9pm slot for almost half a year.
PS - Rock Rivals has another 3 episodes and The Fixer another 2 episodes.
Well I guess it's benefiting from the 9pm slot then. And anybody who continues to blame scheduling for Moving Wallpaper/Echo Beach flopping is being proven wrong!
Teenage Kicks not doing too bad as well really - it's kept it's audience week on week which is a very good sign. I'd say now it's virtually guaranteed both will be recommissioned, which is great news for ITV who've been seriously lacking on the comedy front for a number of years.
Headcases should do well too, but may suffer on Sunday from a poor inheritance as He Kills Copper hasn't been performing that well.
BTW, I read today that the live stages of Britain's Got Talent will be stripped over a week again at the end of May - it's just the audition stages which are going out in the weekly slot.
Well done ITV, it's rather rare when an ITV sitcoms in this day and age can hold up a steady audience, but considering there's no BBC or C4 effort they've pretty much walked this one.
I gave Teenage Kicks a look in last night, okay the acting isn't brilliant but there were some funny moments, probably one of ITV's better effforts.
So Duel has finished - I really hope this gets a second chance. It's certainly been the only thing I've watched week in, week out, that's come from this ITV revamp.
Yes, the ratings haven't been great - but they've been steady at around 3.5-4m - which compared to alot of programmes now is quite healthy, especially when 4.5m or so is considered a hit in the 9pm slot now.
It's been rating better too than Moving Wallpaper/Echo Beach - and been quite well received critically, so hopefully it gets a second chance. Perhaps worth a try in the Tuesday slot instead of Millionaire, or even Sundays at 7pm instead.
Is there any news on a third series of Poker Face?
