Maybe a bit harsh to call Pushing Daisies crap - but when grouped together in that schedule the effect of Mr and Mrs seems to spill over.
And though it's an excellent slot for it, in some ways it seems badly scheduled - it's kind of exposed at 9pm on a Saturday.
I do think something like a Friday 10pm slot - or probably Sunday at 10pm, would give it a better chance to become a sleeper hit and do better than expected. They're kind of expecting too much by putting it straight into primetime, though of course it's not as if ITV have been getting great ratings in that slot since January.
Noticed a few comments on Teletext today about Pushing Daisies and ITV's definition of "Coming Soon". There is a danger they have been promoting it a bit too long - I think the first ads were back in February.

They were only short teasers back in February, the proper trailers featuring clips have only been running for around 3 weeks, although even that is longer than normal. Usually when a trailer airs for a show it is on air within 2-3 weeks.
I agree though, the promotion has been unusually heavy, especially since it's an import. Rather odd that it's had more promotion than any other show this year.
Probably to ITV's advantage really, but due to the strike there are only 9 episodes of Pushing Daisies - no new episodes will air in the US now until the autumn.
Indeed it would be quite unusual to see a programme with a 22-week run in the ITV1 prime-time schedules.
