Just watched The Fixer and have to agree Jez - that's more like it.

One thing which did annoy me though, as with Dexter really, were the Talk Talk sponsorship things, "sponsors of ITV Mystery Drama" - a category I don't consider either to fall into.

How the **** did Bionic Woman on ITV2 get 2.2m viewers last night - a show already axed and pretty much a critical flop too.

I'd imagine they'd be mixed emotions at ITV about that - especially considering the ratings of most of their new programming in recent weeks.

I thought it was great, but then you always seem to know best, don't you Brekkie...

Very respectable ratings for ITV2 there. I imagine there'll be a bit of a slump for next week's episode - a lot of people probably tuned in just to see Zoe Slater as a bionic woman...I did! I didn't stick around for long, though, so couldn't comment on the episode. Did think her accent needed a bit of work, though!

It was formulaic in one sense, up to and including the large fight sequence at the end, but I thought it was quite a compelling watch.

And where exactly does it say that its a critical failure or has been cancelled, Brekkie?

EDIT: Oh I see it on Hollywood.com - however it was put on hiatus during the strike and probably lost momentum.

A bit more reading suggests that although NBC have told the stars of the show that it is canceled, they haven't formally announced it to fans. This came from a fan site and is dated this week.

"The reality is that no one connected with the show has made an on-the-record statement about its future, however, and there is officially still a chance the show could return in some form in the fall. The show’s production offices are still open, according to local Vancouver newspaper the Globe & Mail, and the show’s episodes and information remain up on NBC.com even after other shows that have been canceled have been removed."

Very impressive figures there. Bit of a shame it looks like it won't be returning because ITV2 potentially had a long-running successful US import there, the likes of which E4 seems to have in abundance.

Yes its possible (nay, likely) that NBC are being noncommittal about its future as it is launching in overseas territories at the moment. Ryan has been doing the rounds giving very upbeat interviews about the programme as befits a professional.

But hey - that's showbusiness.

I wasnt too enthralled with the pilot episode last night, but I guess it has to be given a chance. Smile

Maybe another US network will pick it up for a 2nd series?

I think the bigger question is how long it will take for Ryan to be picked up for another vehicle. She's something of a hot property over there at the moment.

It had potential but up until it ended because of the strike it didn't seem to be improving IMO. Surprisingly Michelle Ryan isn't actually that bad to be honest but the accent needs work (and to be fair it's not as bad as Hugh Laurie's). It's the writing and structure (which is all over the place)that let her down resulting in the nemesis being by far the more interesting character.

So ITV2 goes 24 hours from Monday... The first 3 hours of the new schedule courtesy of Radio Times... not very inspiring is it?

6.00 Coronation Street
6.25 Coronation Street
6.50 Emmerdale
7.15 Montel Williams
7.55 Sally Jesse
8.40 Ricki Lake
9.25 Smallville
