Indeed, I was hoping that the Palace would have lead the start of the removal of the blueness. The Rock Rivals logo background would have made a nice credit background.
When people are thinking (me included) that ITV rely on crime dramas, it's within the past 5 years or so that ITV were airing Bad Girls and Footballers Wives, two programmes that were totally unique, yet captured audiences, and I hope that shed do the same with this.

Great show, the usual crappy blue bars and nasty Paint-blue credits. It really bothers me, actually.
Anyway I found that to be glossy, shiny fun! I hope it does well in the ratings.

I really enjoyed Rock Rivals, looks like its going to be good. The people who made it also made Footballers Wives and make Waterloo Road, both big ratings winners - hopefully this is the same. Also, does anybody know the name of the actress who played the presenter? I recognised her voice from somewhere...

She reminds me of someone who did a stint on Studio Disney over the summer, and was also on some shopping channels. Her name escapes me for now, but I'm sure it will come eventually.

I gave Rock Rivals 6 minutes then switched off.
I can't bear all this "it's so trashy I love it" bollox.
It's garbage, people. Crap acting, paint by numbers characterisation and scripts.

Not really deserving of its own thread but the Carlton name looks set to disappear after the sale of
ITV's stake in Carlton Screen Advertising to Odeon and Cineworld
I'm sure many will be rejoicing, particularly those in Central and Westcountry regions but I can't help feeling a little sad for the loss of what once was an impermeable brand.

Indeed so, Carlton wasn't brilliant, but CSA is the last company with the Carlton name and it will probably disappear, but it does have a stunning ident when you see it on the big screen.
I wouldn't be surprised if a tie up between the new company and Pearl and Dean happened in the near future.

Oh well, at least they keep trying.

Even as pessimistic as I am I'm shocked by how low some of these ITV dramas are starting out with - I'd have thought 5-6m would at least give it a try for episode one. I must really be missing something with Traffic Cops then - I think that was the undoing of The Palace too when it first aired.
And it's getting to the stage now where it's not just the quality of individual commissions you have to question, but whether ITV's 9pm drama strategy is really the right strategy at all.
