One of the problems that I've had with Duel is that fact that with them continuing on from show to show that if you miss a show and don't manage to catch up with it, you're a bit lost on who they are, etc.
It's not a major issue, but it's something that I've personnally found.

Perhaps ITV have been right to keep their faith in Duel as it hit a series high of 3.83m last night (16%). OK, not spectacular - but definately a step in the right direction and if it somehow it's 4m, who knows, it might even get recommissioned.

ITV have made some pretty bad decisions of late - but are they about to make their most stupid and recommission Moving Wallpaper?
Well, Broadcast say they will with a source saying it's done exactly what it meant to do in bringing "different" viewers to the channel. They flag up 20% of the audience are 16-34, which is hardly impressive IMO - I imagine the 16-34 age bracket accounts for roughly 20% of the nation. Compared to 11% in the same slot last year ITV may mark it as an improvement, but considering repeat run dramas got twice the audience, there aren't anymore 16-34 year olds watching than there were last year.

They also say Echo Beach will return but in a new format, though not internet only as rumoured (probably ITV2 then, as was originally intended.)
On the contrary though Media Guardian say both are likely to be axed and that as a whole the ITV revamp has failed to attract the upmarket, younger viewers it was designed to do so. ITV defend themselves by saying entertainment is working on Sundays (but neglect to mention it's stripped Saturday night of it's audience), the soaps are doing well (as they always have) and News at Ten has improved the slots performance.

MOVING Wallpaper is staying put – thanks to TV Biz.
ITV chiefs decided NOT to axe the show after our page on Saturday begged for it to be saved.
Now Ben Miller who plays maverick producer Jonathan Pope, will return for a second series.
But it’s not such great news for Echo Beach – the soap “made” during behind-the-scenes sitcom Moving Wallpaper.
It will be back, but in a far smaller form.
A source says: “Moving Wallpaper is returning. We made the call to Kudos Productions on Saturday after reading TV Biz. But we’re not sure what will happen to Echo Beach. It will either have a few episodes or run on the internet.”

I was going to make some cocky remark about I'm sure that ITV make their decisions based on what they see in the Sun, but then again knowing ITV, they probably do.
I suspect any second season would be a much shorter run considering the first hasn't done too well - probably just the six episodes or so to see if an extended third series is worth it.

Yeah, so perhaps:
9.00pm Moving Wallpaper
10.00pm News at Ten
10.35pm Echo Beach
That way MW is extended and EB has less episodes. Personally though I think the format it's in now is good, they should just air it on a better day. It would do good to follow The Bill, I think, as it's more for a younger demographic The Bill has.
I'd actually air it on Thursday, ironically where it began with 5m.
