Nope, the only problem with MW/EB is the piss poor scheduling. I have no clue why the eejits at ITV premiered it on a different day to the rest of the series.

Friday is a ridiculous day, especially for a show that caters for YOUNGER people - according to Moving Wallpaper's episode 1 'demographic' business. Half the bloody lot of them will be out! Look how it premiered on Thursday.

I would have done this show like this:

Echo Beach - Monday 8.30pm / Wednesday 8.30pm
Moving Wallpaper - Sunday 9pm (one hour)

Hour-long Corrie before Echo Beach on Wednesday. The Bill would be moved to Tuesday 8pm in the meantime. They may as well do this now actually and pit it against Holby Blue when it re-occupies Holby City's slot and shunts it to Thursdays at 8.

Putting Echo Beach on twice in the week allows it to feel less slow and dragged out, and move faster. MW for an hour is a no brainer, really. It often ends too soon. I think an 8.30pm slot would have been much better for it.

Honestly it's all about the scheduling. These shows had immense potential to do well for ITV but as usual they mucked it up. Even in the original case, why the F*CK did they move the show Week 2 to Friday? Why didn't Trial and Retribution go out on Fridays at 9? Surely that would have made much more sense demographically and just logically?

And now people are slagging off EB/MW because of the scheduling when the shows themselves are very clever, new and innovative - something people have been berating ITV for neglecting to do for years.

I hope ITV re-commission it and admit to their awful scheduling decision as given time I think it could grow and improve.

But why?! I don't understand why separating the two shows could possibly do them any good. At the moment, they follow on from each other so, if you want to watch Echo Beach, you'll stick with it. If there's a gap between the two shows, or a change of channel involved, they are bound to have a significantly higher number of people not bothering.

Because MW is supposed to be the main show out of the 2, with EB being an "extra" type show for ITV2. Sort of like viewers can switch over to see the "soap" EB straight after MW ends on ITV1. That would have been for the best IMO.

Im enjoying it so far so hope it returns.

I wonder if other series such as The Royal Today and The Palace will return for second series?

I think The Royal Today has somehow got itself recommissioned, but The Palace has been axed.

Dexter - anyone know when ITV Wales are screening it - doesn't seem to be down for Wednesday nights.

ITV Wales are not screening it at all it seems - good job I can watch it on ITV West isnt it. I guess people in Wales will have to catch it on ITV4 if they havent got another ITV region to watch it on.

The Royal Today im not surprised about, ive seen it a few times and its ok for a daytime medical soapy drama.

Rock Rivals looks good and Sean Gallagher is in it - a fantastic actor IMO and a great loss to Corrie.

Dame Edna sidekick has died

Quote:
Actress Emily Perry, who played Dame Edna Everage's sidekick Madge Allsop, has died at the age of 100.

The performer, who played the megastar's taciturn and long-suffering bridesmaid for many years, was 80 when she first took on the role in 1987.

Perry appeared on Dame Edna's ITV star-studded shows and travelled the world as part of comic Barry Humphries' stage spectaculars.

She lived at Brinsworth House, a London retirement home for entertainers.

What have ITV got against ITV Wales - first the close of CiTV channel and then loss of programmes or programmes in terrible timeslots for the viewers.

Couldn't ITV Wales go alone and do its own things (say instead of afternoon drama repeats how about a selection of programmes from CiTV - the drama's could be shown whilst the other ITV stations are on Nightscreen!) then of course there are all the repeats on Saturday and Sunday afternoons - I'm sure ITV, again, could re-arrange their own schedule there as well thus not messing with primteime ITV a great deal!!

Or is that far too easy?

Well if OFCOM had any balls they'd strip ITV of their licence for the Welsh franchise for failing in their commitment to children's programming, considering ITV1 is currently airing less than an hour a week - and the CITV channel was used as a major bargaining tool in getting OFCOM to slash the commitment.

ITV obviously realise that because of the current suicide rate in Wales there isn't going to be anyone left there in a years time. It makes sense. Why keep a kids channel running there if kids find living in Wales so unbearable they'd rather not live at all.

Im not sure if you are being funny or what but current events in Bridgend are no laughing matter. I dont live in Bridgend, I live a few towns away and people here in South Wales are devastated by this situation.

Id suggest ITV have nothing against ITV Wales, its just they have to provide more regional programming than the other regions do so some programmes have to be moved around especially on Sundays and late at night.
