And yet I noticed yesterday he told viewers to do a google search for flood warnings rather than give a link to the environment agency. How very helpful.


More helpful than expecting viewers to remember www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/flood/floodwarning .

It sounds like some sort of internal politics which means they can no longer advertise the address directly

Is anyone else finding the inconsistencies of the current ECP increasingly annoying?

They may as well ditch the restrictions now on colour and fonts, because we're getting loads of different styles and it's a mess. It's like generic, but still not uniform.

At least when they first introduced the network-wide ECPs all shows used them in exactly the same way. Now, it's all over the place. Not to mention the fact that the soaps seem to have their own.

It's the same as it's always been besides the soaps isn't it?
Programmes can use a set of pre-designed backgrounds with centre aligned credits, but can also have the option of using live action, or can also ask to use their own style

Even when they first did ECPs I recall particularly programmes made by Avalon used to ask and be granted to use non standard styles

Not often I've said this in this thread, but I completely agree with you pad.


Why change the soap style if you're not going to follow suit with the rest of the programming, and with all the new stuff ITV1 has, you'd think they'd want to make use of the space the new style gives them to run full promos within the credits.

The Palace started a minute or two before 9pm, probably to get viewers from other channels, before they turn over. They never did this before the News at Ten.. so that explains it.

Dancing on Ice didn't use the horizontal lower 1/4 scrolling credits, but the centre screen credits with images of the contestants booted off the show behind them. Thank god it wasn't a generic ITV background!
