I can't believe Crabbies have brought back the same Christmas sponsorship they had last year. I assumed they were a very last minute solution as they were so poorly made but apparently not. Really, really dreadful adverts.

ITV crashed off the air after the weather sponsor then cut to STV who also had crashed off air.

It didn't half go off air. Colour bars for a good minute or so.

STV managed a breakdown caption. ITV1 HD's appeared for a while and then back to the colour bars and tone.

Oh, well I somehow got colour bars and tone for about 3 seconds, ITV breakdown caption then cut to STV with announcer and caption.

Does that mean this weather should have been live?

Even when it isn't live it tends to be played out "as live" via the Millbank feed, which on this occasion appears to have caught the Met Office on the hop.

FWIW on ITV1 HD London we got the bars for the full duration of the breakdown, with a couple of very generic sounding apologies. From what I've read it sounds like SD managed to switch to the breakdown caption but HD stayed stuck on the bars.

For the dancing dog thing on ITV they've re-dressed the X Factor set and managed to make it look quite cheap. It looks very small too.

Online Sky Guide (at tv.sky.com) showing Jeremy Kyle and This Morning as being in HD from Thursday, January 3rd. Sky Guide on Sky+HD box (and Red Bee listings) saying they're not..

Monday the 3rd? The 3rd is a Thursday...

That will be interesting since ST8, where 'This morning' is broadcast, isn't HD capable. I can't imagine for a moment that it is moving to another Southbank studio.
