No chance.
Interesting.
Wonder if ITV1 will rebrand back to ITV as part of the changes.
ITV1 has never really stuck.

There'd be more sense to do so, because they introduced ITV1 because of all the channels and services they had in 2002 with ITV Digital. They've significantly reduced to just five channels, a news service and a website. But ITV1 isn't going to go away. I always thought ITV was better than ITV1, but ITV Is now the company, not a channel.

Presumably it only references 'itv' as one of the dramas featured is exclusive to itv2 ?

According to our own Sky Networks, the ITV "rebrand" is slated for mid-January.
Apparently it's "being described as a complete overhaul of the on-screen look. Its tied in with News finally going HD (Sep) and the merger of London and Network studio and gallery (Oct)" so presumably this is going to be on the same level as the 2006 revamp.
So it looks like it could be a more major revamp than we expected, but is also further away than expected. Though this makes sense given that September is just weeks away and we've heard absolutely nothing about it.

How can it be tied into news going HD in September if it's not happening till January?
MW
Because ITV News will get HD equipment and such in September - meaning the launch is HD and there's no delay, giving them 3 months to iron out bugs and faults and smooth stuff over

Not strictly true, the current graphics will have been designed in HD, so they could easily switch to HD as soon as technically possible with the same graphics package. BBC News has demonstrated that quite nicely.
Seems that way. Changing to HD would require that the graphics be remade. Pointless if they need to be replaced again four months later.

Are you sure? The ITV News logo on astons has looked really badly scaled since they updated it to the glossy version.
And also, the BBC News graphics still went out in SD during the HD bulletins, only the titles were in HD.

I know this is probably not the right thread, but can I just say that I'm disgusted at ITV for making Tom Daley wear swimming trunks and a tie for his appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show.
