What's good about ITV's channels is that they resist temptation to upgrade their successful shows to ITV1. If a show on BBC Three gets significant ratings or attention, it's bumped up to BBC One or Two. TOWIE or Celebrity Juice couldve sat comfortably on ITV1 but they are ITV2 shows. It shows more respect for the multichannels in my opinion, and helps keep their distinct identities .
Family Guy? Junior Doctors? Don't Tell the Bride? Have they moved?
Little Britain and Gavin and Stacey moved because they had wider appeal and it's an insult to compare them to trashy Towie, Peter Andre **** and Celebrity Juice.
BBC3 trashy stuff like Don't tell the Bride and Sun, Sex and Suspicous parents stay on BBC3 despite being just as successful for BBC3 as G&S/Torchwood.
Stuff like Towie doesn't belong on a main channel.
It still shows a failing at the BBC to create solid identities for its channels. If Gavin & Stacey etc was more suited to a mainstream audience, it shouldve been commissioned by BBC 1 (or 2) in the first place.

Actually Family Guy started on BBC2 before being moved to BBC3
TOWIE does stand up on its own - it sells well to overseas markets and is actually shown on a main commercial station here in The Netherlands!
