I hate the idea of having shows like PD and Dexter at 11.40pm. Dexter is absolutely superb and one of the best shows to come out of America last year and definitely deserves a better slot than 11.40pm.

RE: Law and Order: London, apparently it will begin shooting in April for transmission in early 2009 - can I just ask, why do British shows have to be fully filmed and edited before they air? Why can't they film say 6 episodes then begin transmission and continue filming the rest while they air?

Tradition more than anything, though I think the real reason is historically at least British series have often been written by just the one person, while in America they have writing teams - so the writer will write it all before hand and then be involved throughout the filming and editing process.

Dexter just started showing on 13th Street (an FTV channel) here in NL. Love watching it - although I've already seen it previously in UK, but at least its on at a more decent time than what ITV are planning!!!

Let's talk presentation, the next/then/later slide on the soap ECPs is hideous!

And do we think the new dramas will adopt them?

I assume the 11.40pm slot is a repeat of ITV2 / ITV4 showings? If that is the case, I'm not impressed. I'd prefer Dexter on Saturday nights, considering Saturday has been stolen of it's key show (Dancing on Ice), which got the ratings in for shows such as Primevil. I thought Pushing Daisies would go in a 10pm slot on Friday's once Al Murray finished..
