I know I asked this quite some time ago, but no real answer was given, but I have just spotted it yet again. the new series of Countrywise has a copyright of ITV Broadcasting 2012, and yet the end board is ITV Studios. Who exactly is ITV Broadcasting - as I thought it was now ITV Studios (as per end board)

ITV Broadcasting is the official name given to the licences these days, so possibly it could be being made like a Regional programme, and probably not in London, Manchester or Leeds.

I seem to remember reading online that the first series was simply made up of segments of old regional programmes. I'm sure by now though it's all original given that it's in HD (I think).

ITV Studios is what used to be ITV Productions, ITV Broadcasting is a different department.

Countrywise is made by the old regional programmes team in Birmingham (or at least was in it's original incarnation) - presumably this is where "ITV Broadcasting" comes from because as suggested this is the legal name for the regions now. It used to be at the end of the Thursday political shows but that seems to have changed to ITV Productions now so it's anyone's guess where that comes from...

Did anyone see Tipping Point at 5pm on ITV1 today? It is a gameshow based on the penny pushers you see in arcades. This could be a good half hour of fun. Like Strike it Lucky/Rich the game itself obviously takes second place to the host's banter with the contestants and no one takes it too seriously.

Unfortunately, ITV1 have put it in an hour long slot, got personality-free Ben Sheppard to present it, only allowed idiots (or people who have been told to behave like idiots) to appear on the show and added faux tension to the whole proceedings.

It's not very good but not for the reasons you point out.... it's just a rubbish game. I love the penny-pusher machines when I'm by the sea and I'm putting my own change into them, but I don't really want to watch others playing them very slowly

Especially when the TV version is so much easier than the arcade version as the discs on the TV version practically fell off the ledge with the slightest nudge. I wish ITV would bring Divided (the Andrew Castle gameshow). It would provide a good contrast to The Chase and if I remember correctly it did OK in the ratings too.

Or even bring back The Fuse but with a different host as the actual game wasn't that bad.

I'm watching it again today (far too much time on my hands at the minute) and I'm quite enjoying it today, it has really grown on me. Its very light hearted and friendly, and the contestants are genuinely nice and rooting for each other for once. If it had a better host (I'm not saying Ben isn't competent- he is, but someone with more personality and less serious) then it could develop into as good a show as The Chase with the right tweaks.

Really? This show is the worst gameshow since Red or Black - and even then, only just. It's slow, poorly commentated, too long, quickly becomes boring, and relies far too much on chance to pad it out. The catchphrases are awful too.

It might have just been the choice of contestants, I might think its poor again tomorrow because the format is too padded out and would work better in half an hour (the tweaks I mentioned, although timeslot is probably more than just a tweak).

Speaking of the 5pm slot I do think ITV should take a risk with 'May the Best House Win', it has developed into quite a good/fun show and I much prefer it to Come Dine With Me these days. It seems a bit wasted at 2pm at the minute.

The should bring back The Colour of Money. That was a really good game but just done really badly.
