I hear that ITV HD had a problem and went black at about 7, in the run up to the England match

If this is another problem with Technicolor, why don't they just sack them already!

Rather sloppy housekeeping here with this caption displayed on ITV4HD on Sky tonight.

It directs viewers to watch the programme in SD on Ch 227, which is actually ITV3 SD, following some re-shuffling after the re-addition of ITV4+1 to the Sky EPG a few weeks ago.

ITV4 SD is on Ch 295 on Sky for those with the HD pack.

They kept that quiet.

Name another provider that never has a problem

The SLA (Service Level Agreement) for such operations is normally something like 99.99% reliability. That sounds a lot but spread over 24x365x number of services they could probably switch ITV2 to black for a day and still be under that threshold

Did anyone see Tipping Point at 5pm on ITV1 today? It is a gameshow based on the penny pushers you see in arcades. This could be a good half hour of fun. Like Strike it Lucky/Rich the game itself obviously takes second place to the host's banter with the contestants and no one takes it too seriously.

Unfortunately, ITV1 have put it in an hour long slot, got personality-free Ben Sheppard to present it, only allowed idiots (or people who have been told to behave like idiots) to appear on the show and added faux tension to the whole proceedings.

20 episodes made, I wonder how many of them will be broadcast.

Do you know, I can't think of any gameshows on TV which don't use tension. It's such a shame that the almost 'comedy gameshows' don't really exist anymore - like Strike it Lucky, Play Your Cards Right, Blankety Blank etc. Nobody expected any tension or drama in those games, it was purely a bit of fun and pretty much a vehicle for the comedian host. These days it's all about building tension and dramatic 'journeys' etc. I miss those old shows that you didn't really need to think about in order to watch.

I suppose the only light hearted game show is All Star Family Fortunes thesedays. I do miss the days of Price is Right, Catchphrase etc, but I'm not sure they'd pull in the ratings required with so many options available.

I suppose Bargain Hunt is the closest you get.

I know I asked this quite some time ago, but no real answer was given, but I have just spotted it yet again. the new series of Countrywise has a copyright of ITV Broadcasting 2012, and yet the end board is ITV Studios. Who exactly is ITV Broadcasting - as I thought it was now ITV Studios (as per end board)
