It's a shame that they didn't refresh the older idents with different arrangements, as like above, I think that the only good thing to happen to the music has been the different arrangements that we've heard more recently.
I liked the music on the Emotion idents the best. Totally different from one another, and all had different themes leading into different shows. Infact, I think the emotion idents were one of the best packages the ITV1 brand ever had - shame they only lasted 11 months.

I didn't really like them - it looked like stock footage with a basic animation over the top. They were the worst idents of the ITV 2006 rebrand IMO, which is a bit strange when you think ITV1 should have been the one they were focusing on the most, what with it being the oldest and biggest of the four channels.

I suppose the problem is how do you brand a channel that broadcasts such varied programmes to varied audiences?
It's mainly these channels, BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, etc that get the mixed reactions to their presentation. You could even include Sky1 in that. The others have a relatively niche market that they aim for and so target branding towards that.
How do you brand a channel that one night will play a big entertainment show like BGT, and another, a documentary about long lost relatives. The introduction of dodgems definitely helped, but there's still
More that can be done.

If the quality of ITV's newest websites (www.itv.com/sport and www.itv.com/sport/football/euro) and the glimpses of branding we've seen so far count for anything, ITV's seriously sorting its image out.

Fixed the second link for you.
And got an error message on the first one:

Interestingly (unless it was just a mistake) Jeremy Kyle was shown on ITV1 this morning but was replaced with a legal reasons slide on +1 according to DS. It was a repeat from a few years ago so perhaps something has happened to one of the guests. A repeat of that episode is scheduled at 1:30 on ITV2 so I guess if it's changed then that will confirm that it was done with good reason.

The episode has been added to ITV Player and STV Player.

It was very old. Predates ITV1+1 so perhaps it's a technicality that the guests didn't agree to +1 repeats (on ITV1 at least).
