Why not try discussing what is actually happening rather than making stuff up that isn't happening and discussing that
There has been no suggestion anywhere ever that there would be a 6th Corrie. Remember in total for 2007 the number of extra episodes ordered can be counted on half of one hand

I agree.
Brekkie, give it a rest will you? You said News at Ten would never return. It did. You slagged it off. You said Dancing on Ice would never move to Sundays. It has. You slagged it off. You said there would be no changes apart from 9pm dramas. There have been. You're slagging it off.
Now you're making predictions because ITV isn't working in your favour and predicting the end of the world as they know it for them. I know it's not easy being wrong, but just admit defeat!
Anyway, the Corrie changes are welcome as they free up the weekends but they need more commissions to replace Dancing on Ice on Sundays. I like how Corrie is back to three nights a week. Also, Emmerdale's hour-long Tuesday episode ought to be axed so just one half-hour ep. That is not too much to ask of ITV really.
The 9pm dramas look promising and News at Ten should be great too. All I would do in the near future is make sure there is enough going on on weekends (especially Sundays, though I imagine Millionaire might take the 7pm slot post-DOI) and revert to 30 minutes of Emmerdale on Tuesdays.
I also think The Bill needs to be saved from dying a slow death by either relocating it or axing one episode a week. Perhaps it would work on the weekend? That or give it a 9pm slot one day in the week.
Further, ITV1 needs a new onscreen look, and that should be the next priority really now they've sorted the schedules.

Give us chance to find a way of conceding defeat without actually admitting it first!
Fair enough - wrong on News at Ten and wrong on Dancing on Ice - though I think that's a mistake - but I'm guessing it's possibly long-term thinking in freeing up Saturdays for the FA Cup from next year?
Weekdays though it really is nothing more than the 9pm drama - Emmerdale has been on an hour one night a week most weeks lately, while Corrie at 8.30pm on Friday can hardly be considered risk-taking scheduling. As I said before, it's more loaded with soaps than ever before now - weeknights really needed a couple of entertainment formats or quizzes.
And although in reality it would be about the same number of episodes, I think two Corrie's at 8.30pm intrude much more into the schedule than if it would if they were stripped across the week at 7.30pm.
I agree The Bill does need something doing, but I think cutting back to one a week is a bit drastic. It could perhaps though fill an hour on Saturday (freeing up a weeknight for something other than soap/drama), while perhaps moving one episode to Tuesday, so it is dropped in Champions League weeks, is an effective way of reducing episodes without appearing to do so.
On that subject ITV say they are undecided about whether to drop 30-minutes of Emmerdale or reschedule it during Champions League weeks, according to Digital Spy.
P.S. Any news on the schedules after News at Ten?

I'd hoped they would cut back on the episodes of Corrie - I know it'll never happen, but I did hope. I'll not miss the Sunday episode, but I'd rather they put it on Mon-Fri than put it on 2 nights twice - I feel like I waste that half hour on a Monday.
8.30 Corrie on a Friday - I'm usually heading to the pub then... ah well, I'll try to remember to record it and at least I can cut out the adverts and Morton family
Otherwise, not quite the major revamp I expected - The Bill needs treatment.

Well apart from Dancing on Ice moving to Sundays and the return of News at 10 there is nothing about this revamp that is that major IMO. There is new dramas at 9pm yes, but we always have new dramas all the time - nothing unusual there. People also suggested Corrie would go Mon-Friday at 7.30pm or 8.30pm yet it is still at 7.30pm on Mon/Wed/Fri.
I dont mind them moving the Sunday Corrie to Friday at 8.30pm - as long as they dont put Corrie on EVERY weeknight, id have hated that. I prefer it to be spread out during the week.
Emmerdale having a 1 hour on Tuesdays is ridiculous though - the whole point of having the 6th episode of Emmerdale was surely to help the Sunday night ratings get off to a good start, well if soaps are dropped on Sundays there is no reason to keep producing 6 eps of Emmerdale a week, 5 is enough for anyone. I hope they are just showing the 1 hour episodes until they have shown all those that have been produced on the six a week schedule and then go back to making just 5 a week.
Be interesting to see if the soaps move back to Sundays though once Dancing on Ice ends. I guess it depends on the ratings and if there is something worthwhile for them to show on Sundays.

Well the Radio Times was listing Dancing on Ice as being on Saturday earlier on so I think we can conclude they havent updated it.

I certainly think it sounds like an improvement. I only said a few weeks back that I'd like them to have a LWT-style identity for the weekends, maybe this is what they are trying to do. I reckon it all sounds promising.
