as there is NO soap at the weekends there may later on Deicide to cut the number down a bit I.e one getting the boot on Friday? let hope show!
If that's what they wanted to do then they would have done it. Instead we now have two Corries on a Friday and an hour long Emmerdale on a Tuesday. Ridiculous.

I dare say there will be some changes in September,
So a constant attack on Eastenders, every week, Tuesday at 7-8pm. Can't wait for the headlines on MG and (sanctimoniously) here "EE sinks to lowest ratings EVER AGAIN EVER".

TBH, I think EastEnders will be fine. It came out on top last night and if viewers realise this is a regular thing they'll probably drop Emmerdale. Out of the two it will be Emmerdale that suffers the most.
Yep, recently EastEnders has been coming out on top - though IMO more an indication of how far Emmerdale has declined lately than how EE has improved.
If it is a problem though I think the BBC will just move it to Sunday nights. It wouldn't surprise me either to see either Casualty or Holby move to Sunday either - perhaps when Holby Blue returns, Holby City will move.
And a few months later when ITV's Sunday night figures plummet to an all time low, expect Emmerdale and Corrie back on Sunday nights too. They might ditch the hour-long Emmerdale, but I think they'll use it as an excuse for a sixth Corrie, keeping the extra Friday edition too.
What about regional programming.. will it be given a late Tuesday night slot?
No doubt once DOI is finished, both Emmerdale and Corrie will return, to Sundays, but with ITV keeping the 8.30pm edition of Corrie on Fridays (as Brekkie has said).
I think they should axe 1 episode of Emmerdale, and 1 episode of the Bill. I would like 1 episode of Corrie to be axed, but Moving Wallpaper will need a good lead-in.
Will Dexter still be airing on ITV? I think that could be good in a 10pm slot on Saturdays, following Thank God You're Here.
I'd rather the 11pm Friday news was branded as the Weekend News..
