Ahh, I see what you're referring to. All I can suggest is that it's where the the commissioning side of the company has the programme made by its production side - hence the double credit.

For a bit in the mid-ninties, LWT appeared to rebrand its in-house production arm as a separate company, LWT Productions - I remember seeing job ads with the LWTP logo in it - so as far as LWT was concerned it was the same as an independent production. Except of course it wasn't. I wonder if it was based on the fact that at the same time all Carlton and Central programmes had "Carlton UK Productions" at the end, followed by either the Carlton or Central endcap, thus giving them two flashes of the logo, and LWT wanted to copy that.
We've mentioned the ONDigital one before, it was from the last series of Gladiators which was shown on First ONDigital before ITV.
I'm talking about the 2 endcaps on the end of the same programme!
I'm aware of the Programme/Presentation situation.

I'm pretty sure that LWTP started in about 1990/1 in a restructuring in the run up to the franchise renewal. At the same time they spun off their studios as a seperate business* - The London Studios. LWTP disappeared when LWT rebranded in 1995/6ish.
*Thames and Central did the same with Teddington Studios and Nottingham (I think) becoming The Television House

It's up on ITV Player and the address given on screen is the snappy www.itv.virtualchristmas.co.uk. It's unsurprisingly dead now.
It's on a black background so it'd be easy enough to cover up, presumably nobody ever imagined they'd want to repeat such a horrifically poor programme so have never bothered.
Has anyone seen ITV2 is repeating Jack and the Beanstalk from 1998 again this year? It still has the original LWT endcap, with a URL pointing to virtualchristmas.itv.co.uk or something.
Does anyone remember what this was?

I'm guessing that it's from the time when both BBC and ITV seemed to do things that nowadays would be considered against broadcasting regulations, such as the BBC's soap website and ITV advertising ONDigital (as legally it was a separate company).
Sounds like one of those rubbish 90s-era virtual experiences that try and get you to buy things or something, taking forever to load on a 56k modem.
EDIT: Here it is if anyone is interested:

It's not much help but archive.org did crawl it:

Looks like some sort of Panasonic sponsorship/competition
Was it one of those alternative pantos with Paul Merton, Julian Clary etc? If so I thought they were quite good

Yep, those two and Neil Morrissey, Denise Van Outen and Julie Walters among others.

Mr Graf noted that some of the BBC's sites were not distinctive enough from commercial alternatives or could not be justified as public services according to the remit.
In response to this, the BBC's director of New Media and Technology, Ashley Highfield, said the following five BBC websites would now close:
The What's On events listings site
Fantasy Football
The Games portal
The Surfing portal
The Pure Soap site

For them to repeat them each year (albeit on ITV2), they must still rate relatively well.
I wonder why they they haven't made any in recent years. It always used to add a bit of fun, entertainment and most notably comedy to the itv1 schedule post Christmas day.
