That's interesting - I never realised the BBC didn't show the pilot. I've just double checked and "The Murder of Sherlock Holmes" is being shown on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 December. "Deadly Lady" then follows on Wednesday 7 December.
The listings have changed, they are starting with series 10.

This will be the first network showing of s10 of msw on itv
So presumably this is ITV Daybreak's payback for the Rugby World Cup as ITV 1 presentation is going out across UTV and STV. Anyone know how they bridged the gap between Curious George and Richie Rich, was there a network ident?

It's been happening for the last few of weeks now. On weekend afternoons, on of the family movies is shown as part of ITV Breakfast (ITV1). STV/UTV idents are broadcast before the movies, but ITV1 branding airs right up until the end of the last ad break (following the movie).
But do they use ITV 1 continuity announcers and idents? Today there are two films which make up the time, Curious George and Richie Rich.
Oh, sorry. I didn't know they were showing two films back-to-back as part of the ITV Breakfast slot. I've just checked STV+1, and it was ITV1 promos and ident (the golden shower one) - with Scottish announcer.
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet. You've Been Framed has got a new remix of its theme tune seemingly inspired by the 1990s versions. In my opinion it is not as audibly interesting as the previous version used since 2003.
It's more of a technical issue. Opting out just for a 30 second ident is hardly worth it, and UTV once got in trouble for opting out of GMTV - they had their local news opts taken away and given to another news provider.
Watched STV. ITV1 trails right up until the STV ident into the news. Quite a lot of network branding for Scotland/NI!
Why on earth, would ITV care if STV kept there branding during the ad breaks its not like anyone can will take any notice.,.....
ITV might not care but STV and UTV must do, with network branded trails, including the ITV (and not STV or UTV) Player in there! But I get your point: it's an ITV owned franchise, so ITV branded trails it is!
