Of course if they did and it was a public vote then ITV1 would probably win too, it being the most watched channel in the country

Do you have something to back that claim up ?

OK, maybe a bit of a generalisation in terms of overall channel share it varies throughout the year but it's long been a close run thing between BBC1 and ITV1.

ITV1 does beat the BBC in terms of highest rated programmes though, it has 3 regular bankers throughout the year: 2009
2010

Fact is, whether or not we consider the ITV1 ratings winners like the X, Y and Z Factor shows a pile of tripe, people are watching them in their millions, and that's all the advertisers and ITV big cheeses are bothered about.

In terms of total viewing according to the BARB figures, BBC 1 is the most watched TV channel in the UK, usually with a lead of at least 5%. Peaktime is different however, as that is when ITV1 has most of its strength.

Yes they may be tacky but they are well made...maybe Simon Cowell should have his own franchise for the weekends (like he practically does anyway)...then again maybe not.

Would rather watch BGT or X-Factor than Strictly anyday!

How many episodes of Holding out for a Hero do we think will be broadcast before the rest are put on the same shelf as The Colour of Money and Shafted?

Did either of those have a sponsor? Because this one does and presumably that will have an impact on it remaining in the schedule. I don't really think ITV have axed that many series before their end recently anyway.
