Would have thought Christine Bleakley was an obvious choice.

Fiona Phillips is being tipped to cover 'This Morning' whilst Holly is away. Helen Fospero (odd but very clever choice?) and Ruth Langsford are also said to be in talks. Source.
It would be a shame if they just drop someone else into Holly's role, Ruth has proven time and time again that she is more than capable of holding a live daytime show yet is repeatedly overlooked by ITV. Although if Fiona is joining the team, perhaps Phillip & Ruth presenting Monday-Thursday and reuniting Eamonn & Fiona on a Friday is how ITV will approach it.

I did think that Christine might present Friday's if Ruth done Mon-Thurs after Holly went on her maternity, however I'm not sure. I get the impression Phillip Schofield doesn't really like her.

The obvious & wise choice is Ruth, especially as Phil & Ruth presented on many occasions, every Friday back in the Fern (post Lorraine) years, and also when Fern took many breaks in her final couple of years. Though thinking about it, if it's only for a few months, I wonder if Fern would come back for a short period.
I like the idea of using Ruth for Mon - Thurs & bringing Fiona in for Ruth on a Friday with Eamonn. Though of course Ruth could do Mon - Fri.
I'm not sure if it would be wise to bring in somebody new & as young as Holly, as it'd be very doubtful that it would work as well. Maybe somebody else from Phillip's presenting past, Sarah Greene or Emma Forbes?
As for the summer run & studio upgrade, if it's a good summer, they could always decamp outside onto the south bank. As much as a tour could work, what would be the cost implications of it?

I love all this "and of course, Ruth could do Monday to Friday".
Perhaps she doesn't want to! She does loads of other stuff, away from the cameras. She has a youngish family. And she's married to one of the richest men in tele.

Of course, we can only speculate on here, and I personally stated that as she may wish to do all five days similar to what she does/has done in the summer, then again she may not wish to do more than the Friday show. It could also be the case that Holly may finish in May & wish to return in September.
I love how much of a guessing game this place is sometimes.

I don't think Ruth would want to do Mon- Fri during Summer Holidays because she would want to be at home for her son.
Taking Christine would put Daybreak in presenter crisis. I remember reading daybreak was to have a consistant presenters because apparently we never knew who would be presenting GMTV. So taking Christine for a long while is doubtful. Maybe Fridays.
Eamon has his duties with Sky, not sure how his contract works. But 6 weeks off Sky is a long time.
So Maybe Ruth and Phil for the bulk of Summer Hols Mon - Thu Eamon and Christine - if they work together ok on Fridays again for the bulk of the holidays.
A Blast from Phils past would be nice though, Emma Forbes?

Ruth and Eamonn have done summer holidays since 2006 (except for 2009 when they took it off air) so it would just be business as usual for them (if they're to do the same this year). Ruth also does a lot of covering across all of ITV daytime so I doubt she'd have any objections should she be asked to cover for Holly.
I agree with the poster that said they shouldn't replace Holly with someone the same age. Holly is somewhat of a rarity and appeals to literally every audience imaginable. Male, female, old, young etc. There aren't many other 30 year olds that have the same pull.

I think Holly will leave late (baby due in May) and I don't expect her back until very late in the year (around November) or even in January 2012. And even then, I don't think she'll commit to 4 days (especially with DOI). I think we'll see another scenario with Holly only doing 2-3 days, similar to when Fern came back off maternity leave around 2002.
No reason why she would though really considering she hadn't long had her baby when she started This Morning IIRC (wasn't it in between filming The X Factor auditions and the Boot Camp/Judges Houses stages?).
IIRC Holly's baby is due in the Spring sometime, so it's possible it'll only be up until mid-July they want cover, with Eamonn and Ruth on duty over the summer and then ideally Holly and Phil back in September - though I guess Holly would pretty much be entitled to take the autumn off too.
Alternatively though they might keep Eammon and Ruth to Fridays throughout the summer and bring in Holly's stand-in to co-host with someone else (I'd guess Ben Shepherd) to front the summer too.

Holly had Harry in May, then started X Factor auditions in June (looking great for a new mum), and began in This morning in September of 2009, two weeks after the series began due to filming judges houses (and so launched new look This Morning with Eamonn & Ruth for a fortnight). I'm sure she also did Celebrity Juice in the Autumn too.
Speaking of this morning, I don't think it's been mentioned that the other week This Morning Saturday was hosted by Eamonn & Holly. Interesting to use both together, and works well with the 4 of them filling in when the others aren't available, but it was an interesting appearance of them together, I'm unsure if they've appeared together on a main show.

She might see things differently if she has two young children though, not to mention she'll be a lot more tired! Celebrity Juice and DOI still have around 6 weeks left, so we can assume she isn't leaving before April and TV presenters on such shows tend to leave at the last minute to have as much time off afterwards. Her first child was obviously different as she didn't do much between DOI and beginning Xtra Factor filming.
