I found the start of Star Wars very funny,
Subtitles caption appeared just as the start of the film with the opening message appeared.

I think the new titles for YBF were launched last year.
Noticed new opening titles on this evenings You've Been Framed just now.

Correct, page 283 (http://www.tvforum.co.uk/tvhome/itv-discussion-thread-26337/page-283) is the start of that conversation

Yeah it was discussed a little bit on the previous page - pretty good I thought, ITV seem to have got some better promo designs in lately!
Nice 'next week on ITV' trail mid way through That Sunday Night Show. Audio sounded exactly like the Arts on the BBC trail.

Strangely ITV2 HD is currently showing a slide in place of Flashdance saying that due to legal reason they can't bring us the programme in HD and to switch to ITV2. I didn't think HD simulcasts had these sorts of issues as we've come to expect on the +1 channels?

Only a handful do - as essentially HD channels are seperate channels and some rights don't allow the simulcast (similar to the newer Star Wars films not appearing on ITV1+1). The HD ones are pretty rare though.

Watching the repeat of tonight's Secret Diary, it seems all the ad breaks on ITV2 HD after tonight's showing of Flashdance are being erroneously replaced with the 'legal reasons' slide. This is happening both during and between shows, with promos and idents going out as normal. Here was me thinking there would be someone in playout monitoring the output of the channels

Not necessarily a mistake. If programmes (such as Flashdance) aren't being shown on a simulcast channel then the advertising minutage has to reduce accordingly too, which may be more than just the breaks in the missing show. Not sure if that's what was happening in this case but it seems likely as everything else went out.

I'm not sure of the ins and outs of it all, but the ad break during Secret Diary was replaced with the slide which I found strange given that Flashdance had aired and finished, as was the break after Secret Diary going into Emmerdale. I would have thought only ads during the flim would have been affected (and even then I didn't think they had to cover the ad breaks given that there is no rights issues with the ads). If they had to replace only the breaks like they did, it would have made sense to change the slide to make it clear that the on air show was on the channel rather than unnecessarily sending viewers to ITV2.
