This is surely the final act of a soon-to-be-abolished ineffective regulator?

The C3 franchisees took a risk, as any business does, and agreed to a contract to pay money in return for their expected revenues and guaranteed perks. They've already had so much contractual slack applied to their PSB commitments in England that it would be hard to enforce anything on the basis of 'custom and practice'.

Having let the franchisees off the disadvantages of being a PSB, but still allowed them the benefits of grifted DTT spectrum and favoured reserved EPG positions, Ofcom have relented on the final bastion of state reward for this by GIVING it all away for virtually nothing!

It's time to remove the licences from C3 and sell its DTT spectrum for its true market value.

To keep in sync with the HD DOGs I suppose:

But then there's the effect it has on the OSN:

I'm glad they've got rid of the colour, it stuck out too much

Is it me or are they not as well executed as the previous colourless dogs were? I know there isn't much difference but the 'itv' lettering doesn't look quite as sharp.

There is absolutely no excuse for full colour DOGs so great to see they've finally U-turned. Happily, it's following a general trend back towards greyscale, semi-transparent DOGs.

I guess it leaves BBC Three's pink thing as the worst offender out of the main channels.

Here they all are in widescreen along with the now adjusted ITV2+1 DOG:

I was only saying the other day that its strange how the ITV Player used the grayscale transparent dogs, even for ITV2, but the channels don't.
It actually makes the ITV2 dog look a lot more bearable.

Over two years on, how do people feel to the ITV2 slanted logo?
Has it grown on people? Do you think it should revert back come the next refresh? Or do you think the other channels should follow suit and adapt the logo in different ways?

And after the return to colourless dogs, who knows, maybe in 3 years they will move them into the corner very corner of the screen for widescreen programmes.

The ITV2 HD promo is very good. They're really turning Keith Lemon into a face of the channel. Though it is most probably the only thing that I watch on there.
When they did relaunch a couple of years ago the programmes looked promising, but now it all seems to be following random celebrities around, either in fly on the wall or full on documentary style.

By the looks of the promo ITV2 won't relaunch for HD, but then again they may just do some adapting & have a couple of new idents in the way that ITV1 did for their HD launch.

Any news on if there are to be any alterations for ITV3 & ITV4 when their HD variants launch?

As a logo the slanted logo is fine for ITV2, but there is no reason why it can't be 2D for the DOG.

I agree. Is it just me or but now the ITV one has been made grey, it doesn't have the 3D look - it's very flat.
