WELL that was a shocker how Heartbeat finished! it does beg the questions what would have been the next part?

Just got back from seeing a recording of the Christmas special of All Star Family Fortunes and a regular episode of the show. This morning were and Emmerdale were on the Christmas one and Gino Di Campo and Coronation Street were on the other one. They gave us Christmas hats and everything! Laughing

Was Gino D'Acampo part of the This Morning family as well as his own?

I find it shocking that ITV has chosen to axe what is normally the 5th most-watched ITV programme in the weekly ratings, with 5 - 6 million viewers. What else do they think is going to achieve that kind of success on a Sunday evening?

They've lost the plot.

In fairness, the 1960's, or whenever it's set, can only go on for so long.

He wasn't on the This Morning team, Ruth Langsford was on the This Morning team. Gino was on the second show they recorded yesterday and he had about three rows seats with family and friends in them!

A decade is only 10 years. The series would only start repeating itself before long.. bit like EastEnders.

And where was it ever set into stone that Heartbeat could only be set in the 60s, and never move into the 70s?

It would never be called Heartbeat if it moved into the 70s, they were best off finishing the Heartbeat series in 2002 then calling the next one [insert song title of the 70s here]. etc.

Going by that logic, Heartbeat should never have been named after the song, then. It was released in 1958.

Heartbeat might have got good viewing figures but they were right to axe it because it had run its course. There are only so many episodes they could do set in the 60s and obviously they couldn't move it onto 1970s.

Wonder why it never moved into the 70's?
