ITV has revealed how it will spend the £5m set aside to transform its Kirkstall Road studios in Leeds.
The year-long ‘Project Farm’ overhaul will see the main ITV Yorkshire building completely redesigned, rebuilt and rewired to become a file-based HD production centre. It will feature six studios and up-to-date postproduction and technical facilities.
On completion, the production of Emmerdale will be transferred into the building from its nearby soundstage, a move that will provide the soap with almost double its current available space.
That's good news, at least it shows that ITV are still commited to Leeds for a good time to come now, losing Heartbeat, The Royal and Countdown wasn't a good thing but at least this does compensate for some of that loss.
I didn't know ITV owned ProVision, I guess it makes sense why they have a building opposite Granada's studios in Manchester.

Will there be room for anything else to be made in Leeds bar Emmerdale?

There is also a massive ProVision site on Kirkstall Road in Leeds...
