In London it was a image of Fred Dineage on a test card in the form of the Carole Hersee one floating on screen behind the ITV local news background. It appeared after the "end of part one sting"

That's quite annoying. I normally record Coronation Street on ITV1 London but I chose my home region of Meridian on 103 tonight. How ironic that Fred Dinenage would make an appearance for London viewers but not viewers in the South who have been loyal to him for many years.
Anyway, when is someone going to post a video and/or image of this odd occurrence?

That's quite embarrassing, we've put Fred back in his box now.

The reason for the long hold on the end of last night's evening weather was due to confusion over the duration! It wasn't helped by the fact that presentation responsibility for ITV's output had been transferred to the NTC in Leeds due to a fire at TNS in Chiswick Park...
That is probably the explanation for the great Fred Dinenage's appearance too!
