On the note of continuity errors, last night Country Wise was introduced as featuring Suffolk but the episode was on the Yorkshire Dales.

Did anyone see the ident before Loose Women today?
The continuity announcer got a bit mixed up and introduced the ITV News! Oops Surprised
Laughing

Did they use the same ident (Sunflowers) and script (mentioning Andrew Castle and Divided at 5pm) in the junction before news too?

Err, no I think it was Lanterns, and in the ident before the news the announcer didn't mention James Mates so it was different.

The Dodgems ident played again before Millionaire tonight. You can hear the music a bit better in this edition than the one played before BGT

By the way, he mentions the Scottish Debate thing because I am in the Border region which covers part of Scotland as well as England. Does anyone know what was said on the ident in other English regions? Am guessing the Border version was pre-recorded.

Does ITV1 Wales still have its own customised versions of the idents and bumpers? (More bodged than customised - the word "Wales" is superimposed onto the network ident, I believe.)

I believe that got quietly dropped.

What has happened to ITV's ECP? Seen it happen twice now, when the credits are moved to the left, they seem to be squashed inwards as well as moved to the left and reduced in size. Previously they were moved and reduced in size but not actually squashed and the credits were on the far left of the screen, now they are slightly more towards the centre of the screen and look thinner. Is it just a mistake or have they changed it? It looks wrong anyway.

It doesn't have it on the ident anymore but it does on the break bumpers - easier to do that, no doubt, as the adverts are regionalised everywhere. I seem to remember someone saying that they once managed to leave up the "Wales" for most of the following show.

Speaking of which, I remember last year they left the "Subtitles" up for the entire first half of the TV Burp repeat, but I wonder why they still do that manually, as they all have subtitles these days, so why not stick it on the ident, or not use it at all? Be different if only some of the shows were subtitled, as in the past. They always mess it up.

Did anyone else see that, on ITV1 HD the Dodgems ident played and it was squashed from the top and bottom in a movie style aspect!

I did actually see the Dodgems break bumper earlier in the same format. Was it the same on regular ITV1? Looked very bad. Only seems to be with any Dodgems pres though??

Sorry for the bad quality pic, but this is what the ident looked like: http://twitpic.com/1hu2ug

Was watching something kinda old on ITV2 the other day (Airline, I think) and they had the older style 'swishy' ITV credits (light blue with dark blue text) in the centre of the screen, but when the ECP came up, it was the one used for newer (bottom of screen) credits and covered everything else up. The only one you could make out was '© Granada Television Limited, 1998' or something, and then the following programme (Coronation Street, I think) had the smaller credits but was squashed to the left hand side of the screen whilst an ECP video played out on the right.

The new break bumpers definitely look like an afterthought - on the old ones, the Wales text was bold and positioned beneath the 'ITV' box (like on the local idents and trailers) but now, it's just centred beneath the whole thing carelessly.

*

The superimposed 'Wales' before all programmes was dropped about a year ago but we do have a local ident before regional programmes - it used to be 'Lake' but now it's this one (there may be more that I haven't seen yet)

*

Curiously I saw this the other day before Jonathan Dimbleby - not an opt-out! The announcer made reference to "ITV1 in Wales" too, and there was a very brief glimpse of a Wales-less 'Sunflowers' ident before the programme.

(sorry for the photos - DVD recorder out of action)
