I know I'm probably alone, but I don't like the way the logo appears on 3 of the 4 new idents. I like it when at least they put a little thought into it. I just think they could have been a bit more inventive. The idents themselves are not bad, though Snakes and Ladders sure is weird!


I agree - Sunflowers especially where the "ITV", then the "1" and finally the yellow block fade in separately.

I disagree. I love think the music is great. And the new music isn't that different in all honesty. Its the same tune with different instruments!

Its the same tune with different instruments!

Well its an improvement to the melody, the synths used for the melody is a lot more varied this time round than the old theme which sounded samey.

That happens in Snakes and Dodgems too - but in the latter it's odd in that the dodgems weave in front of and behind the right hand yellow block giving it a different position compared to the rest of the logo.

ITV1 messed up the credits for Coronation Street today. They played them out as if they were centre aligned vertically scrolling credits, but Coronation Street uses slides for its credits. The end result was that the left side of the screen was black, the credits were at the bottom of the screen and covered up half of the ITV1 logo.

I guess the same happened on ITV1HD?

Did not see HD forgot, I wondered whether they meant to show the corrie credit pics on the left or normally I would assume a full screen promo with credits at the bottom as they were tonight Confused

ITV1 HD is clean, it doesn't have an ECP yet, also its not the first time thats happened.

Well considering it won the "factual programme" award it probably does count as news now! And to be fair, it probably falls into that category far more than Live from Studio Five does!

Don't think I fancy seeing James Mates as a loose woman though! The announcer said "ITV News with James Mates" !!
