I would have thought with a name like 'dodgems' it would have been a great ident for use before the leadership debate as all MPs like to dodge questions... <groan>
However, I wonder if an ident has been created based on the black and gold bumpers/ecp/trailers?

It was a little rubbish to say the least! Its like ITV made some effort with Lanterns, then couldn't be bothered with the next 3, especially with the logo reveal!!
At least they finally have an 'entertainment' ident. That one will look better in the autumn though, it kind of loses its effect when its broad daylight!
I know I'm probably alone, but I don't like the way the logo appears on 3 of the 4 new idents. I like it when at least they put a little thought into it. I just think they could have been a bit more inventive. The idents themselves are not bad, though Snakes and Ladders sure is weird!

And dodgems is really nice - finally a perfect ident to lead in to big entertainment shows like BGT.

Guess its just me then. Guess I'm a little weird way. I always notice design aspects of things and that is one of them.
Think of the majority of the previous idents (more so before the new logo) most of them had the logo appear in clever ways, and Lanterns is better as well.
I have to say I am incredibly impressed with ITV for handling this new look so well.
No stone has been left unturned on the website or in the pres to make the new logo the norm everywhere. It's on the Election Debates background (according to footage on BBC News Channel), it's in all the endboards, its in older versions of the idents.
It looks really nice actually. Well done ITV, great job.
Unfortunately it didn't quite make it to the Drama Premiere sting before The Prisoner tonight.
Could it be that they're waiting to air it before Britain's Got Talent? By the name, I'm imagining that this will be a more upbeat ident used for entertainment programmes, but who knows.
you were obviuously right then, Although they obviusly wanted to wait to launch it before BGT it seems a bit strange they waitied another week to air it. tbh most of the general public wouldn't notice if there'd aired it before.
I sort of agree with tomo359, in lanterns the logo appears quite nicely. But the other 3 and especailly dodgems the logo doesn't fade in all that well.
Overal Dodgems isn't too bad - at least there've got an entertainment based ident now.
Overall I think Lanterns is the best ident, and Snakes and Ladders is the best breakbumper apart from the generic ones which are also nice. Dodgems is nice but there really isn't a lot of yellow in it, more green and purple by the looks of it drowning out the yellow on the cars.
However they're trying to join all the idents together with a siimilar look, but if anything it's been made more disjointed due to the music. Not wanting to sound like a broken record but that horrible droning music still exists on a majority of the idents, yet now 4 have significantly different music. It's a step in the right direction but in my opinion they just needed a whole revamp, after all this lot have been in use for 4 years in November.
