I haven't seen the Basketball Ident in ages!

So we are not getting any new idents just new break bumpers?

The four new idents will probably be used mostly before HD programmes, in the same way Channel 4 uses its HD idents mostly at those points. I imagine we'll see them a little later today though.

I like the breakbumpers so far but they really ought to scrap most of those idents they're currently using. They need to think "what do they say about ITV?" and with the old set, its not good.

Urine fountains, basketball waste ground, man in a boat all need to go. Out of the ones they show, I think they should just keep the flowers one and the bubbles.

New logo looks good- its amazing what simply putting a gradient on can do.

I'd seen a couple of things this morning and didn't like it too much, but now seing a couple of other things on this thread I think there better. I'll have to see the full deal, though to see whether I like the refresh overall.

I think the logo is better, seems less like a buisness logo.

I agree with getting red of most of them - they don't really need 14!
Fountains is just dull, basketball waste ground - surely they don't wan't a waste ground assosiated with their brand! Man in a boat isn't too bad for News ect. Beach is ok ( they don't use it that much anyway). market isn't too bad but again a bit dull. Bike is also a bit dull. Pavement Art & Buildings don't seem 'warm' and welcoming'( I hope that makes sense) Like you say only Garden & Bubbles seems fresh and inviting.

The logo is an improvement (subtle but it works).

Looks like that drab music is here to stay though. Nothing about it screams "this is an entertainment channel".

I like the music, I don't see why everybody has a problem with it. If anything, it gets the brand across because the tune is very repetitive and chirpy.

But after on every ident at the start of every programme since Nov 2006 it's now well past it's sell by date and due for a refresh.

What a wasted opportunity.

I've never had a problem with the music either and it certainly compares favourably to most channels IMO. Exactly what I expected today really - a few tweaks and a couple of additions (which look good in the breakbumpers at least). but nothing major.

The BBC have different music for each ident which works better and certainly fits with what you are seeing on screen. ITV1 would have been better to have a 'musical hook' that appears each time but variations to reflect what is happening on screen - the music simply does not reflect anything at present.

The music is too wishy-washy. And it's the same for every ident. It feels completely out of place before a big entertainment show like The X Factor.

One of the new idents will play out before Coronation Street in a few minutes. Not sure which one mind.

I've known about all these changes for a couple of days now and have been so dying to tell you all, but I was asked not to tell anyone, I wanted to tell you about the fact the music wasn't changing so much as everyone was asking.

anyway, you all know now, such a shame they didn't update the music, but guess that was too much to ask from ITV

Anyway, I'm hoping the 4 new idents will be impressive, I can't wait to see Snakes and Ladders
