If DS Forums are to believed, then ITV are going to pull the plug on Men & Motors at 6am on Thursday 1st April, with ITV1 HD taking it's slot on the Sky EPG on the 2nd April.

Shame to see the last channel from Granada Sky disappear, but I guess the writing's been on the wall since it's removal from DTT and the amount of content that's transferred from M&M to ITV4.

On the other ITV HD thread, someone emailed ITV and they confirmed its closure.

I read it as saying that it was leaving the Sky EPG. ITV's response didn't say anything about it stopping broadcasting on Freesat and Virgin.

What about the stuff that transferred the other way from ITV 3 & 4 to M&M, like 'The Big Match Revisited', 'Carry On Laughing', 'Please Sir', 'Soldier Soldier' over the years etc?

What will happen to that?

(Personally I'd like one of the ITV channels, 3 more than likely, to rescreen the later 'Doctor' series, as I've seen the majority of 'In The House', but only some of 'In Charge' & none of the others! I saw 'At Large' for £30 in HMV in Brum. They are joking surely?)

Can't say I'm surprised considering the poor ratings since the 9pm move.

They certainly didn't help in the situation. No wonder it's in such a mess. The badly-received changes, coupled with no ITV Player catchup and STV withdrawing sealed its fate.

Regarding ITV1, do we think a refresh will come when ITV1 HD launches?

ITV is also launching new on-air idents and an "evolved on-screen presentation" which includes an updated ITV1 logo. The new idents, of which there are four, were developed by production company Blink.

Well I did say on the ITV1 HD thread that something would be happening, and here it is.

I didn't realise they would only produce 4 idents though, seems very lacking! Anyway, will have to wait and see.

About bloody time really, what the hell were they thinking commissioning such drab music to suit their so-called 'Alive With Colour' now 'The Brighter Side'.

I wouldn't get too excited - with just 4 commissioned I'd be surprised if these were little more than additions to the current set.
