Ohhh indeed. They needed to do something about the trail style - the abscence of differing weights for the programme title and the date & time left the endboard looking like a bafflingly long list of words at times.

The logo now has a web 2.0 3D shine effect. I wonder if they have taken the opportunity to standardise the logo size across the idents, using this updated version?

I normally get screen grabs (for my website) from my main computer with an aerial connected, but am having problems with it, so had to get my grabs using WM Capture with ITV1 Live on itv.com

Back to ITV, weird tonight, sometimes trailers use the new style, other times they go back to the original look

Interesting... that David Cameron promo was just on now (watching the live stream) and it was still in the dusty yellow style. However in the same junction was a new style promo for Loose Women.

Looks as though they're testing the new style out, given that it's debuted at silly o'clock.

I wonder what the end credit promotion will look like? Surely they have edited that as well.

Also, will anything else be changed? Break bumpers, idents etc

Will have to wait and see.

ITV1 HD to launch on Sky, Freesat and Virgin on 2 April

It's a shame they've got sod all HD programmes to show.The improved picture quality of the upscaled SD output will be welcome though.

Sky channel 178. Replacing Men & Motors. Interesting.

As an aside, I notice that the ITV press release shows the ITV1HD logo as being the same style as the one on the new-style trailers. I guess that the new style will go live when the HD channel launches.

I like the new logo- it shows there is a lot they can do with the basic logo, they just aren't doing anything! Only ITV4 seems to be able to carry that style off.

Are ITV1's current idents & graphical elements made for HD? Could it be that with it now going to be a full channel rather than a press red service that they may be redesigning things in better quality?

It's a rather nice change, but I think I prefer the speckles of light on the old. Also looks like they've made all the edges on the logo rounded rather than on the far corners.

It would be nice if we got a new set of HD idents to be launched on the same day as the HD channel.
You never know, they might already have some ready, but knowing ITV the current lot will still be around.

It would be good if they have done some with the new edited logo to go along with the new style end board.
