Paul Jamieson (Scottish continuity announcer) seems to be back on ITV1 this morning, even though he left several weeks ago.

Do you think he came back for Christmas, or do you think it is pre recorded and he recorded them before he left? I don't know if continuity if live on Christmas Day.

I think all the announcements are pre-recorded.

I liked his announcement during the Santa Claus credits: "Sorry about this, I'll be as quick as I can! I have to say, I love that film. The news is next..." Very Happy

Thanks to ITV1 for showing that. It turned out to be a real treat for Christmas Day. (I have it on DVD, but watching the film on TV in the knowledge that millions of other people are enjoying it at the same time makes it much more special.)

It's been on BBC Two every other year in recent years, normally a few days before Christmas. Thankfully ITV seem to realise just what a fantastic film it is.

Hi Paul (it's the same tomo359 from Twitter Wink ) Merry Christmas Smile

I thought your last day was a few weeks ago when you mentioned it on your Twitter. So glad you did Christmas though, loved your last announcement.
I will be doing a special Christmas ident video to go along side your other video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss31EcNhEB0

Hope ITV gave you a good send off Very Happy

Is it not a bit odd that it says Winter 2010 on it? I know technically it's still winter in January, but it doesn't read quite right to be promoting their 'winter' schedule at the end of December. If anything, I'd expect them to promote a 'new year' schedule, and then a 'spring' one. "Winter 2010", in my opinion, starts in October or November next year, so it just looked like a mistake to me.

623058 is right, Dec to Feb is classed as Winter. October and November is still autumn, hence why ITV1 still had their Autumn promo on then.

One point I want to make about the Winter promo, does anyone else think it's a very poor effort compared to some previous seasonal promos?
The text animation looks cheap, there are no nice screens with text on apart from the cheap looking one that says "Winter Drama" with a load of white circles on it, then it uses the regular black end board. As far as I can remember, all ITV1 seasonal promos before have had special end boards. Its like ITV creative team just gave up when this promo was made. Unless they have two creative departments, and the people who made this Winter promo are the same people who made that cheap ITV1 Christmas Movies promo with the guy holding up the white boards with new text dubbed on top Rolling Eyes
