Has anyone seen the very poor christmas movies promo on ITV1. Starts with a guy (forget his name) holding up white boards and ITV have added writing to them then shows some clips from movies, then ends with the boring black end board with yellow lights and just says Christmas Movies Rolling Eyes

Erm, yea, well done ITV, very christmassy. And it didn't even promote films like Happy Feet, just films like Love Actually which has been shown numerous times before.

One way to bump up ITV's Christmas Day line-up would be to put the Royal Variety on in the evening, I don't know why they wouldn't.

What an awful idea! Shocked

That might have had people gathering round the tellybox in 1959, but in 2009 it would send most people channel hopping until they found something even mildly entertaining!

Brilliant Smile I think the presentation is very Christmassy, cosy and warm.

What is it that gives it that warm feel? It's very pretty but I wouldn't call it warm.

Chie is just a immature idiot who thinks that if it does'nt have a christmas tree it's not christmassy.

So he praises ITV's medicore effort while deleting BBC One and their brilliant effort.

Firstly, it should be "an idiot" Wink.

I'd hardly call BBC One's effort brilliant. It looks cheap and tacky. I'd rather have the snowball again than David Tennant.

Where is it written in stone that BBC One's effort is brilliant? That's your opinion.

I think the ITV pres is cosy and warm because it just is. I don't have to write you a thesis deconstructing the various elements of ITV's Christmas presentation - this isn't a tribunal.

I've never said 'if it doesn't have a Christmas tree then it's not Christmassy' either. I don't even have a Christmas tree in my own house, for goodness sake. Rolling Eyes If we're going to compare and contrast then ITV1 has Christmas puddings, bells, stars, snowflakes, reindeer, crackers, baubles, presents, the words 'Merry Christmas', a snowman, a robin and a tree. BBC One this year has a lot of snow and some reindeer. So in my opinion ITV1's effort is much more Christmassy as well as being understated and humble, yet also very warm and homely compared to the BBC's acres of snow.

If you disagree then fine, but calling someone "a immature idiot" and making out they're some kind of heretic for criticising a broadcaster is completely uncalled for. In fact that kind of behaviour is quite immature itself, really. So less of the personal remarks, please.

Well said.

Have ITV had Christmas idents on ITV2/3/4 in the last couple of years?

Really nice promo actually. Considering their Christmas line-up is pants they've done a good job of making it look impressive.
