For all we know, the new one could have been made at the same time as was pro-type.

Surely how much that cost ( a lot!!) could of went towards a new ident!! - you can't even notice until you compare them!!

Surely the expensive part is creating that whole virtual environment. One its there, tweaking and re-rendering wouldn't be as costly as creating something new from scratch.

Use your noggin.

(No offence to noggin).

Are you ITV's accountant?

no I'm just saying that it's a bit pointless to change an ident (ever so small changes) where as the cost of doing this could of went towards a new one!!

I suppose your right, that it wouldn't of cost that much , but it's still an unnecessary cost , when if we hadn't been told , we wouldn't of even noticed it.

They don't do everything so we notice, but it's clearly to make the logo stand out more, can't have cost that much given that it's a much cruder reveal than the original version.

ITV's Thursday schedule isn't doing brilliantly, is it? Rolling Eyes

Corrie is being beaten by EastEnders every week. Axe the Emmerdale episode and put the Corrie episode at 8pm and that might help?

I wonder if ITV might jiggle them about again in the new year. Wouldn't be surprised IMO. Reinstating Sunday's episode would be a start. It still has a place, even with the more entertainment-y skew. This would work fine:

7.00pm Emmerdale
7.30pm Coronation Street
8.00pm Dancing on Ice: The Result
9.00pm Wild at Heart
10.00pm ITV News

Good schedule IMO, and it would mean they could move axe that silly 8pm Emmerdale on Thursday and either move Corrie to 8 and axe a Friday episode or cut that out of Thursdays too, though that would leave a 4 day gap between Corrie episodes.

Just a shame that ITV have just recently annouced that Coronation Street will be an hour long episode on Fridays!

Sundays however are doing extremely well at the moment and Coronation Street would fit like a sore thumb in the current line up.

Thursdays will bed in, relaunching The Bill back to normal (and even making it a bit more soapy again) would solve the ratings issue.

so that will be at 8pm then with tonight going at 7.30pm? If there were smart there would do the same for monday.

Sorry can someone tell me when it was announced this hour long episode on Friday was happening? I can't see how, or where it would go without clashing with EastEnders? I can't see it being true.

Corrie can't be an hour long on Monday or Friday due to the small matter of EastEnders on the other side.
