Be interesting to see if they do decide on a refresh for the Autumn season. I have to admit, I do on the whole like the style that ITV1 are going for - they just need to be a bit more ambitious and creative. Something based on the 'Brighter Side' adverts would work really well.

I think that's why a lot of people didn't like the 'brighter side' promo - perhaps instead of being a promo it should have been idents - I think the above ones look really good & would work well. I thik the fact that the umbrella / penguin ect. go over the logo works better - seems to blend in!!
Although I think a Autumn refresh is unlikely - 1 - it's a reccession ect, 2 - I think we would have heard about it now - we normally here about these things ages before & everyone bulids it up on here & are dissapointed because everyone had 'bigged' it up so much.
How long have objects been flying/walking in front of the ITV 1 logo in the current ident's? I thought it was a nice touch.
Since the current idents started? I think that was the problem with the Jan 2006 idents, the fact that they didn't utilise the logo, the logo simply sat on top. Saying that none of the Jan 2006 presentation did this, they all had the logos added to the idents. But you could tell that the ITV2 & 3 idents were produced based on the new logos & audience of the programmes, where by the footage used for the ITV1 idents could have been meant for any channel.
Noticed a couple of things tonight -
firstly the pre x factor ident seemed to have "win - x factor " actually pre put on the ident rather than because it's virgin media/sky have stuck it on( can't think of a proper way to put it) - normally these things don't come up on my virgin media box.
And noticed for Wednesday's football game promo the actually said "on ITV1 & ITV HD" rather than what the noramlly do - just say ITV1 ( with the ITV HD logo on screen)
I hate to be a killjoy, but is there a reason why DS considers it "Breaking News"? There's only so much you can report, and we all know it'll be ITV1 'but an hour later'...
