Far better to have Corrie & Emmerdale alternating in the 7:30pm slot from Sunday to Fridays (ie reducing to 3 per week each).

8:00-9:00pm needs to be free of soaps.

Yeah, that'll keep the ratings up and the shareholders happy. Rolling Eyes

But it's time to stop relying on these programmes, unless they intend to rename the channel ITV Soap as part of the revamp next year.

Great so ITV1 in primetime turns into ITV Soap Rolling Eyes

Interesting. And if they move it to 8.30pm lets hope it will be reduced to 4 episodes a week as they would then get rid of the Monday double I assume?

I hope they do not move it to 8.30pm. It suits and has established the 7.30pm slot. It is just getting back to large ratings; surely they would want to keep the high ratings, instead of trying to build them again for the 8.30pm slot.

Not unless ITV, are wanting it at 7.30 and 8.30 on Mon, Wed & Fri... (not Sun).

Oh I do believe I suggested this move in that fantasy schedule thread.

It does make sense, but without any engaging programming to put in the gap in the schedule at early peak it's a risk.

And I expect that Eastenders would claim the 7.30pm slot for themselves, rather than the 7.30pm / 8pm schedule they have at the moment.

I think they will loose viewers from 7.30, who will tune over to BBC One for EastEnders (whilst ITV has Who Wants to Be a Millionaire), and the viewer will stay on BBC One for (let's say..) Waterloo Road, so they will miss Corrie & record it!

What they have now I think is better. They just need good content at 8pm, to keep the viewer for 9pm.

That may be where that story has come from!, the bit about it messing up early peak was mentioned here too!

I'm sure ITV considered everything, it actually happening is a different story

The 8.30pm rumour has cropped up every year for the last few years at least - generally off the back of the Christmas schedules where Corrie often plays at 8.30pm due to extra episodes of EastEnders between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

Pinch of salt - as likely as that rumour News at Ten would return being true! Wink

Emails from ITV:

"Hi
We’ve heard nothing about a change in our transmission times however decisions like this are never made by us but always by the ITV Network Centre.
Best Wishes

and

"Thank you for your email. The Coronation Street production team are unaware of any move in the transmission times for 2008.

Stupid!

itv must now found 5 30mins programmes at week: or 1 hour show from 7.30 = 8.30?, which means Emmerdale may move!

this what ITV must Remember: where would you put the bill? 9pm? and all that other ITV show Wink
